Great video! I was on site for more than a few ‘top off’ days. It was always a very special and important milestone event to the guys building the new Skyscrapers.

Anytime I approach a sudden drop off, I feel it pulling me toward it and have to get back. I can’t imagine anyone riding that girder.

I think a lot of them were Mohawk indians.

“OSHA would not be amused.”

I know. That guy wasn’t wearing a hard hat. What if he had fallen?

Me too. They just walk around like they were down on the sidewalk. 40 stories up walking on a support beam doesn’t bother them at all. One guy even gets off balance and meh no big deal

“One guy even gets off balance and meh no big deal”

Yeah, right at the beginning the guy does a balance check 40 stories up!
I’m not a fan of that kind of heights. I don’t even like it when I’m inside a fully built skyscraper, hah!

I was a Local 40 Union iron worker for 10 years. Then I mostly worked 5 years in Local 361 Long Island. I had Mohawk friends sleeping on my sofa and giving me moose meat they hunted. Then a friend invited me to join a trip to Germany and I met a young lady here who I married.

I love seeing our flag roll with the breeze. Most beautiful flag in the entire world. U.S. Army 1985-1993

I have several photos of Tempelhof taken by my Father in 1945. Full of destroyed airplanes. Others of Ike’s plane landing there, also in 1945.
