U of P telling students abroad to come back home.

A bit late for that. Sure, get on a plane with a couple of layovers. If you aren’t passing the virus onto everyone aboard, they’re passing it to you. Then spread it all along your way back to your rental. Surprise, roomies! Guess what I brought you.

But there shouldn’t be a question of “more” need. We shouldn’t have one outlet for any medical supply.

At 50,000 flu deaths per year it is about 1000 dead per week from the flu. Keep that in mind while this corona bug is hysterically hyped. And most of these deaths will be of already sick/old people that would have been done in by something else like the flu.

“How about the McDonald’s kiosk touchscreens.“

I bought Clorox Broad Spectrum Quaternary to disinfect canned food in my garage when I get it home from the store. I’m done with McD’s for now.

I have a “rocket stove” along with solar and gas stoves. Rocket stove is really efficient. General type can be Googled.

Agreed. The offshoring to China especially of medicines and medical equipment is really coming back to bite us.

But it sounds like 3M has ramped and is contracted to supply 35 million masks a month to the government.

So by the time the public needs to start wearing masks, I think there will be plenty.

I have a nice wood pile derived from cutting down 2 90 ft tall cottonwood trees. Sufficient to keep the house warm and cook. That's fallback for cooking on electric, then natural gas, then propane.

I live in Pocatello. N42 latitude. Solar isn't great here. It was very viable when I lived in San Diego at N32.

Saving the liquid in the canned goods is a good idea. As an Eagle Scout, I'm pretty well trained in getting along with the resources at hand. My wife is also an EMT. We're both ham radio ops.

I take back what I said earlier about getting stomach upset from the prep meds. It was a tuna fish sandwich that did it! Lol

No problem for asymptomatic Koreans to fly here and crash in our hospitals with no warning

We are usually at near capacity on any given day as it is.

Masks should have been worn 2 to 3 weeks ago. We got hundreds already infected. 6 just in Washington State with many more being tested. So many they could not even tell us a few minutes ago.

Our hospitals are always at near capacity. Where will they put those few dozen more who need special rooms?

I have been in Walmart and two other stores today. Haven’t seen any alcohol-based hand sanitizer yet. Fortunately picked up some refill jugs in Costco last week.

The cleanest fast food place I ever ate at was a Burger King near Toronto Pearson. I had just left the airport and you could eat off the floors in this BK. It was staffed with mostly little old ladies who were cleaning and a couple people were making the food. It tasted great and the exchange rate at the time (wow, just checked, it’s still very good!) made it a good value.

Yeah, well the west coast might ought to start wearing masks.

I won’t wear a mask until it’s in TN or KY. And then my plan is to talk work into letting me work from home.
If that doesn’t work, I’ll just have to sneeze every time the VP walks by.
