Makers of mobile game Plague Inc. say the game is no longer available in the China App Store.
In a blog post Thursday, Ndemic Creations said the app, which lets players simulate and strategize the spread of disease globally, was taken down because it "includes content that is illegal in China as determined by the Cyberspace Administration of China."
"It's not clear to us if this removal is linked to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak that China is facing," the company said in the post. "However, Plague Inc.'s educational importance has been repeatedly recognized by organizations like the CDC."
In 2013, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention actually invited founder James Vaughan to speak and ran a Q&A on its website about the game.

My daughter was playing that in Orlando Airport last Saturday. Her disease was called “The Big Sad,” and it caused people to sit at home and cry, so it spread all over the world before they figured out they would eventually die.
Several other people waiting for our flight were laughing as she described the game’s progress.
So, the Chinese have been spreading the virus with an app. Buncha WOGs.

Sounds like the Reddit admins, probably just a coincidence that tencent (China) owns a portion of Reddit...
The makers of this game did a really good job researching the reactions to the spread of disease. So many times over the past few weeks I’ve thought about some scenario in the game after hearing about something a government did in reaction to the coronavirus. I would love to see an update with other factors added in like China’s tight control on information and Europe’s open borders policies.
I’ve played it - kind of fun.
Unrealistic in the sense that people would be going to torches and pitch forks much earlier in real life. This nothing burger virus already has people’s hair on fire.
