Continuation of Coronavirus live Thread. 4.
Is that you who have done so well with Romaine lettuce safety? Maybe you can do something about failed packaging. Seems every time I grocery shop, I waste half my time rummaging through dented cans and safety seals that were never attempted.
We’d do just as well popping bon bons as taking antibiotics for a virus. At least bon bons are tasty.
BTW, this US citizen has never purchased a People Magazine.

That’s more FDA, not the Social Media Team at CDC. Anyway, to join you, it would be nice to know COUNTRY OF ORIGIN for our drugs, which is something CDC can do.
Why is the CDC wasting our tax dollars on masks? See my tagline.
Or maybe masks for them but not for us peons.
They don’t want to have to pay out on the World Bank pandemic bonds.....
Have they called this a pandemic, yet?
said it can still be stopped
WHO chief Tedros describes outbreaks as “linked epidemics,” says there’s no evidence coronavirus is spreading freely and “we still have a chance of containing” it
China's information has rapidly become irrelevant. We have our own, and we have data from Singapore, Japan and SoK. Add to that research from around the world. That I can trust.
As to your question, I have complete faith in “ring” quarantines. As demonstrated in miniature at Travis, March Field and Miramar. It works. Nobody in my town got sick. It's hardly a Chinese invention. But has China demonstrated a ring quarantine yet? Between Feb 1 and 15, almost 1/4M people left Wuhan. Yuan talks. That's not including those that were given warning to leave prior to Jan 23, when the mayor caused mass panic and literal flood of the hospitals by going from step 1 to step 6. Yet the CCP only locked down Wuhan. And look how they treated Hong Kong, where a lot of mainlanders fled. HK had to buy tests from CCP. What was up with that? But there are still Chinese flying to Bali. And Iran kept flying Chinese tourists until they got their wake up call. China's calling everyone else racist for turning away their people. They haven't done the world any favors. As long as they continue to act like it's their world and we just live in it, China isn't going to get a pat on the back and an atta boy from me. And, the sky is not falling.
btw - did you see LilFarmer’s find re: camostat?

3 weeks ago, the CDC and WHO were saying it was under control and there was low risk. H2H had not even started and everyone thought stopping flights from Wuhan would have been enough. 4 weeks ago were the first cases outside of China.
The testing problems were just last week.
I know this all feels like a lifetime in pandemic years, but I am not going to excoriate the administration for listening to the CDC/HHS/WHO 3 weeks ago.
However, last week was key, IMO. It was obvious the cat was out of the bag and our CDC was failing miserably. The president should have stayed home and taken care of business. He needs to up his communication game, people feel better with specifics not generalizations.
Heres the deal. Singapore is doing the best job in the world, but they are just keeping their head above water. They are running 3 released for every new case, and if that holds good. But, its going to be touch, because it is a silent spreader. Even Israel who jumped out early and decisive, has had cases imported. Who would have known while everyone was looking at Asia that Italy would be seeding Europe?
The bottom line, even if President Trump did everything right, its still coming like a wave while were using brooms to try and sweep up the water on the shore.
I think healthcare wise it will be the worst thing most of us have seen in our lifetime. I think the markets will hit very low numbers if not crash. But I believe, unless Jesus comes back (and youll probably flame me for that one), I believe that the Us will rebuild.

This is a complete list of drugs that are experiencing shortages. They are not listed by brand name so you will have to know the generic name. Looks like the ingredients for EpiPens are on there.
first responders/medicals/Africa etc. Africa and S.America has been mentioned several times in various meetings so that’s my guess anyway
Perhaps what we need to do is start calling this the Trump virus. Then every leftist and deep state retard will hate it and fight it. Who knows. Maybe even the CDC/P will actually remember what the P stands for. And for all you anti Trumpers, no it is not a Golden shower.
WHO raises coronavirus threat assessment, now says virus poses a very high risk at a global level
~~~~~~
Sadly, kinda reminds me of old SNL skits.....raises risk to VERY HIGH....
Kaletra should work, and we have lots of it.
PING to list of current fda drug shortages list.
Thank you! Lot of injectables on the list. What is interesting is all the antibiotic eye ointments. A few weeks ago I needed some antibiotic eye appt for my dog and the vet said everyone was having trouble getting it. I wonder if that was related.
Thanks for finding/posting that list of drugs on shortage.
Heparin is on the list.
We read about that one - which is used in most heart surgeries - about a week ago.
I agree completely.
I think the President was listening to Kudlow. We cannot disrupt the markets. Well, that horse is gone.
Now is the time to act like FDR at the start of WWII. Time to get rid of the dead wood and start putting action oriented people in charge.
It is time to pull in the owners of the major media into a Scif and show them the satellite footage of China’s bonfires and big ditches. Tell them to go back and stop the crap.
It is time to pull the entire country together.
I like Trump. But it is not time to tweet crap, it is time to show leadership.
Pence in charge does not encourage me. He is a decent, good man. But he is a political leader that we do not need. This is the President’s job. Period.
Last week he lost control. This week it was worse. Stop worrying about the twitter-verse. Time to take charge.
What he is doing is reacting. He needs to act. Making committees is not acting in any meaningful way.
Thank you!
But did they draw a red line?
