A lone cloud resembling an ocean wave was spotted in the clear winter sky in New Hampshire Monday morning.
The Mount Washington Observatory, a non-profit organization that maintains a research facility on top of the New Hampshire peak, tweeted the photo this morning. They said, "Mother Nature waved back!", and explained how these clouds form.

While the rest of the world goes crazy, we in the the Northeast Kingdom [NEK] enjoy the sunrise over the Summit over a cup of Green Mountain coffee. :)
It’s beautiful.
Since the Old Man in the Mountain crumbled, I guess they gotta find something.
Apparently the *original* thread was pulled. I offended Bernie, I guess. :)
that type of cloud formation is indicative of severe turbulence for aircraft. looks nice from the ground only.
Every day I can see the Summit is breathtaking. It’s glorious here in the NEK. :)
I’m living the dream.
lol.
What did one ocean say to the other ocean?
Nothing, they just waved.
I can imagine being flipped around by it.
Enjoy!
Lol. My granddaughter told me that joke over the phone the other day.
True; this area is very dependent on the tourist trade. Right now, the draw is skiing and snowmobiling.
You can’t get near a gas station, with all the snow machines lined up for fuel. It’s wonderful.
The Bernie must not be offended!
I’ve windsurfed that wave!
Had a couple of those in Colorado in the last couple of weeks.
We have all sorts of adventures, as in raking the roof....that was today's chore.
I can’t imagine.
Literally, I never see or hear aircraft here. Once in the early spring [2019] a single engine DEP plane flew southeast of us, surveying the Connecticut River for ice out conditions, I think.
Maybe they could come up with a Santa in a Snowmobile attraction.
A gift from God. :)
There’s a Santaland in the Notch ....cute place for little kids. ;)
