Figured we would start numbering the threads.
Some points to keep in mind:
1. This thing is not “just the flu.” 2. 1/10th of the worlds population is in some sort of lockdown. 3. Generally, we don’t buy the Chinese numbers But if anything they are low. 4. Everyone is welcome to post, but don’t bore us with your “you are panicking” posts. They are tedious.
It’s Sunday night and the Walking Dead is back. Let’s talk Coronavirus.
It would be difficult to obfuscate or hide the evidence if there are serious outbreaks of Covid 19 disease in the United States. The word would get out from patients, their families and health care workers. What is really surprising is that there have been no documented outbreaks to date. Clearly until very recently thousands of people travelled from Wusan to multiple points in the US. It is very likely some of these people were symptomatic or asymptomatic carriers of COVID-19. Yet no outbreaks to date. Why? Is genetic susceptibility the key factor? Are the cases in Iran and Italy given the relative non availability of reliable specific diagnostic testing really COVID-19 infections? Still do not have enough information to determine if a true pandemic will occur.
I just did some napkin math.
About mid-January, there were 300 confirmed cases.
5 weeks later, the third week of February, there are about 75,000 confirmed cases.
So, projecting at a rate of 250 multiplier on the cases every 5 weeks:
March 29, there could be 18,750,000 cases.
May 3, there could be 4.6 billion cases. Half the world’s population by the start of May.
We are so screwed.
Without any positive tests, how exactly would word get out?
CDC isn’t ALLOWING any testing.
All the ER/ICU know is that someone died of pneumonia...
Only when hundreds show up will anyone have a clue something is wrong...

Not everyone exposed will get ill.
Not everyone who gets ill will be seriously ill.
Not everyone who is seriously ill will succumb.
All because they can’t stand the idea that the peasants elected someone they didn’t approve of.

Yeah. It’s just a few hours old, it wasn’t there this morning.
This is going to cause the kind of panic they hoped magically wouldn’t occur.
If they had just said, ...look, we’ve got some rough stuff coming, we aren’t going to sugarcoat it, but we’re Americans and we’ll get through this together...here’s what we’re going to do and here’s what we need you to do...
But nooooo... secretive, dishonest and fearful. Idiots. Damned fool idiots.
I watched something tonight where a Dr. speculated that the Iran and Italy are new strains. I think we ARE seeing cases here except our system has been able to handle them so far. I've heard of several people that have been diagnosed with pneumonia over the last couple months. One school system up in Michigan two weeks ago was closed one day because of illness. I think we are still 3 or 4 weeks behind China though and the incubation period is still not known for sure so it could get bad soon.
They are NOT idiots.
They ARE evil.
The upcoming panic and disruption WILL be used to get their agenda passed.
I wouldn’t be shocked if ‘political dissidents’ were to be picked up here during ‘disruptions’ like they’re doing in China right now.
At this point, nothing would shock me from these people.

I wish I lived in Singapore right now.
Their government health care system actually appears to care about Singapore.
Exactly, no verbiage about the steps they are going to take to mitigate this, or even mention of medicine trials. It summary: “This will likely be a pandemic, and you’re toast.”
It’s clear they will be reserving the drug that works (the gilead compound) for the ‘appropriate people’.
But not the rest of us.
Bet there’s a round of it reserved for every person there.
And their families.
The BBC TV series “Survivors” 1975-1977 was about almost this exact situation. I dug out my DVD set and I’m watching it again, their virus was much quicker and far more deadly. It’s on YouTube in poor quality.

Very disappointed in the China hands I follow.
