Coronavirus Live Thread. Live Thread 1
2/23/2020

Posted on 02/23/2020 1:57:16 PM PST by Vermont Lt

Figured we would start numbering the threads.

Some points to keep in mind:

1. This thing is not “just the flu.” 2. 1/10th of the worlds population is in some sort of lockdown. 3. Generally, we don’t buy the Chinese numbers But if anything they are low. 4. Everyone is welcome to post, but don’t bore us with your “you are panicking” posts. They are tedious.

It’s Sunday night and the Walking Dead is back. Let’s talk Coronavirus.

The Chinese get the same flu we get. Have they ever done that before? Don’t read this in a tone other than questions. You guys apply the panic tone where it’s not being used Why are these actions unprecedented in human history...for “the flu.” Do you think the Chinese are kidding? Honestly?

I get the impression that you are starting to worry about this. I have been worrying about it.

That IS humbling.

Even the younger generation ‘get it’.

I’m not worried about death. I’ve got that covered.

I’m more worried about living in the early 1900’s because the supply chain for things I consider to be necessities (but in reality are just conveniences) is broken.

Mostly I worry about municipal water treatment chemical availability and continued electrical power.

I contemplate those two things a lot anyways. I like potable water out of my tap and a/c. I’m spoiled that way.

POTUS made comments to the presstitutes, regarding cv, on his way to boarding AF1, for his India trip.

He said that “President Xi loves his country, and will put a stop to this”.....

I think this thing is way out of Xi’s hand’s, at this point.

Prayers up for POTUS.

I am concerned.

I always considered being worried as going tharn.

If you are concerned, you look at it, think about it, and think about what you need to do.

Do you have a generator?

Not that that would last much longer past there being no power.

I imagine the natural gas lines would go out, not long after the power company peeps stop showing up :(

No such luck with universities. They can just hold their classes online.

We’ve got a gas powered one.

And gas for running it intermittently.

Could probably keep freezer stuff going for several weeks by running it off and on and covering them with blankets.

We’re all spoiled. Trying to live without running water, electricity or gas would be difficult.

President Trump needs to throw President Xi under the bus. President Xi fail his people and his country will fall in a couple of months when the truth comes out.

That is why President Xi is trying to get the factories up and running. They need the money to stay in power. We are about to witness “The China Apocalypse”.

Just disinfecting the ends of the shopping cart handle. What’s that thing in the middle? Some electronic. No disinfection of the toddler poop seat where many people place their fresh produce.

I don’t think we’ll go ‘full wuhan’. We’re not packed like sardines, in general.

We, most of us, understand the germ theory of disease transmission. Most of us.

And if we’re quarantined, most of us could do with a 14 day fast. Wouldn’t kill us and might eliminate the need for meds for most of us.

But rest assured, if ONE kid gets it and dies here, it will be trump’s fault forever.

I think a lot us keep food in the house this time of year for the late winter ice storms, so that helps.

I do think the big cities (LA, San Fran, Chicago, and New York) might but most of the country will not.
