American companies seem to love H1-B visa workers. They I know they work cheap and will go to any location where the work is. Corporations call all the shots in America, not workers.

President Trump made some campaign promises to the contrary - they should be kept.

PDJT IS keeping his promises. He said “Make America Great”.
I don’t think he said “Make computer programmers great again”.

I completely understand the heart-burn many who are displaced by H1-B workers feel. In the bigger picture corporations are hiring H1-B because it helps their bottom line and stay competitive. Look at what unions did to corporations with wage demands which made those corporations fold up tent and moved manufacturing abroad. I have seen that first hand having lived in Chicago from 1961 through 1988. We need more American corporations to remain in profitable business. If H1-B workers is one part of it, it benefits the country. A company keeping doors open in US has tons of side benefits. More tax revenue, more social security contributions, more utility consumption, more building maintenance staff employed, etc.

And on last point, there are 100 million Americans earning above average wages. So opportunity is still alive and well in America.

Saris (or ‘sarees’) are gorgeous!

Yes, yes. Look forward to whatever Melania decides to wear. Surely it will be eye-catching and lovely...

Apples and oranges - which American to hire is a vitally different issue than WHETHER to hire an American.

We need more American corporations to remain in profitable business. If H1-B workers is one part of it, it benefits the country.

What is essential to the country's lasting success is a middle class; when unbridled capitalism erodes the American middle class through salary depression, it saws off the branch on which it sits. It's not a viable long-term option for America.

there are 100 million Americans earning above average wages.

Wow, so in terms of wages, half of Americans are above average. Amazing! LOL

If we allow Third World diploma-mill con-men to be used to drag down wages, it will still be true that in terms of wages, half of Americans are above average. Only that average will no longer allow a middle class as it exists today.

Do you understand a baseball bat across your head? You are an affront to human sensibilities. Go back to India, please.

Can’t! No longer a citizen there!! India wants me to pay hundreds of dollars to get just a tourist visa. I have not visited since 1984. If we get president Sanders, I am looking at many countries though.

If we get president Sanders

If we get President Sanders, no small share of the blame will lie with those who made corporate profits the highest good and gave capitalism a bad name with many working Americans.

I worked for 23 years in an outfit in Chicago where there were 800 middle class jobs in manufacturing. Those jobs are pretty much gone to China. The loss of middle class is in manufacturing, not computer programming. Manufacturing is #1 wealth creator in a country.

The USA would be a preposterous happy country if there had been no immigration for the last 50 years. None. Immigration has caused great economic and social upheaval.

I wish they had never come here. Even worse immigrants that do become citizens vote for Democrats over Republicans in huge numbers. The ratios are staggering, 90% to 10% in they voted for Democrats over Republicans in the 2016 election.

We Americans don’t want to lose one job to an immigrant.

The only possible purpose of this visit that I can see is a nod to the Cheap Labor Express. I hope I am wrong.

Unfortunately the power is in hands those who contribute big bucks to politicians. Over my 60 years spent in United States, I have seen first hand the movie of middle class shrinking and the very rich getting richer by exporting manufacturing and importing cheap labor.

Clearly you are a Bernie mole. /s

Once proved they are Indians, they are, in fact, deported. But the Indian Gov't wants to keep out Pakistanis and Sri Lankans who pretend to be Indians.

*** India has avoided Corona virus outbreaks .. so far. Probably USA has more infections based on population size. ***

So,those in India who are saying that India has been dishonest about their cases out of fear President Trump would cancel his visit are untrue.

If so, all the more reason to defend the middle class we have left.
