A Google Cloud manager has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his wife during a vacation in Hawaii with their children after a body was found on a beach.
Harvard-educated Sonam Saxena, 43, reported his wife Smriti missing on Tuesday claiming the 41-year-old mother-of-two had vanished during a late night stroll on a secluded beach south of Anaehoomalu Bay, in South Kohala.
The couple, from Bellevue, Washington, were on vacation with their two daughters aged 13 and eight to celebrate their eldest child's birthday - a trip they take every year.
He said Smriti, a business program manager for Microsoft, suffered an asthma attack and disappeared while he went to get her inhaler from their room at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort.

When she went missing, why didn’t he do a google search to find her? Probably used Bing?
The inhaler leads me to suspect King Wannahackalooggie.
Hes been released due to lack of evidence he did anything criminal. Pesky presumption of innocence.
He has been released, but still a suspect, pending further investigation.
And people trust Google to tell the truth?
It doesn’t look too good for Sonam, but he could be innocent.
The cops could have arrested him because they have no other leads.
Or maybe he did it and his story didn’t hold up.
Need more info.
Smriti will not be down for breakfast.
The were in Hawaii. It sound like he found a cheaper one-night stand from DigitalOcean.
He won’t get away with it.
The murder is probably back up saved in the cloud.
Hmm. I wonder if theirs was an arranged marriage? And if so, how that and working in the US put stress on their marriage? I get the impression they were from India but the article doesn’t say nor answer any questions about their marriage.
The article is written as if they were a more typical Western, well-to-do couple with high-tech careers—and maybe they were, right down to one simply cheating on the other and being caught. But I wonder if one was being ordered to transfer or was looking at dismissal and the other balked or complained and traditional, “old country” attitudes came into play.
They don’t even know the cause of death yet. He may be totally innocent.
Anybody seen Joran van der Sloot?
Oh, never mind...he’s busy entertaining los hombres in a Peruvian prison...
\ Reading the article, I was waiting for the climax where you say, “Aha! This dude obviously killed his wife.” But said climax never came. Unless the cops have some smoking gun that isn’t mentioned here, this sounds like one of those “Dead wife = guilty husband” rush-to-judgment cases that end up the subject of a Dateline or 20/20 episode.
So lame, it's likely true.
He may be innocent. But it is strange that—if the husband is telling the truth—she left valuables behind (that he later found) and wandered off.
“Maybe she kept reminding him that he was really both Micro and Soft.”
That would be a problem. Maybe she even pointed and laughed.
we’ll find out
She had an asthma attack & wandered off....huh?
They released him yesterday after the autopsy was “inconclusive.”
The dispute about browser security, and MS Azure and Google cloud had been simmering for years, friends of the couple said.
