IIRC, the NEJM paper indicated they found it in the urine and feces of the 35yr old patient in that particular study.

Just my guess: Infectious asymptomatic transmission will most likely be between persons being intimate or very close in some way (breathing on each other during sleep, or kissing, for example). That's based on the probability that an asymptomatic shedder is likely to be shedding relatively low counts of virus particles - most of which do not survive long on skin, etc. But even a "relatively" low count might be enough to infect one if enough virus particles land on a "good" spot.

OTOH, if 80% of cases are mild and / or difficult to detect, how many asymptomatic carriers might there be in Hubei alone? Or in the US today, for that matter?

Fecal transmission SHOULD be relatively easy to minimize in the US. Almost nothing is 100% though, when it comes to this sort of thing.

Similar to the flu promoters here two weeks ago. Today, I was told by the radio news today not to panic. Not that I would, but some people are 3 weeks behind the curve on this. Got ass marks? Protect your loved ones. Keep your loved infected ones from harming you.

Soon to be sold out at Walmart, although, I am not sure it is n95.

Yes.

Funny how people think that when it comes to this sort of thing, Mo’ Nature is less capable than Man.

I’m picturing a remote control for toilet flushing (later, once/if we get past this).

My toilets have them along with front and back bidets and we love them, but... most everybody picks up the remote control, Would be better if everyone would wash their hands BEFORE going to the toilet to prevent passage of remote control germs. I personally eschew the remote control for the buttons on the side. Since I’m the only one, I now realize that the side buttons are a plus for me.

Next we’ll be told we have no right to know HOW many diagnosed patients there are.

No better than China, if true.

I’m guessing that if it gets bad in the USA your food in the freezer will be good for two months. After that - who knows. Options will be to going in to work to keep the power (and water, sewer, fire department....) running versus getting infected at work, or having to stay home with a sick person, or getting sick yourself.

3.5 million more deaths?

In 2017 there were about 2.8 million deaths in the USA. Flu and pneumonia around 55,000. Although I think in 2018(?) the flu deaths were around 90,000.

Chinese specialists says he has isolated COVID2019 in the urine of an infected patient.

ACE2 is highly expressed in the kidney.

Protein Atlas Kidney Tissue Expression

I suspected it and was waiting for further findings.

CDC had one job and they completely failed. I bet they are really good at marking off vacation time on their annual government calendar.

CDC: What’s going on over there? Come in!
Tedros: Uh, everything is under control. Situation normal.
CDC: What happened?
Tedros: [flustered] Uh, had a slight virus malfunction. But, uh, everything’s perfectly all right now. We’re fine. We’re all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?
CDC: We’re sending a squad over.
Tedros: Uh, uh, negative, negative. We had a quarantine breach here now. Give us a few days to lock it down. Large breach... very dangerous.
CDC: Who is this?? What’s your license number?
Tedros: Uh... [shoots the intercom] Boring conversation anyway. Pooh, we’re gonna have company!
