NEW YORK As Republican President Donald Trump seeks a second term in November, Americans' interest in voting is growing faster in large cities dominated by Democrats than in conservative rural areas, according to an analysis of Reuters/Ipsos national opinion polls.
If the trend lasts until Election Day on Nov. 3, it would be a reversal from the 2016 election when rural turnout outpaced voting in urban areas, helping Trump narrowly win the White House.
The finding, based on responses from more than 88,000 U.S. adults who took the online poll from August to December 2015 or from August to December 2019, suggests that the Blue Wave, a swell of anti-Trump activism that followed his entry into the White House in 2017, is still rolling across the country's largest population centers.
Even as Trump commands rock-solid support among Republicans, voters' interest in going to the polls appears to be growing faster among those who disapprove of Trump than among those who approve of him, according to experts who reviewed the data.
The advantage in urban political engagement extends deep into the most competitive battleground states that Trump won by razor-thin margins four years ago, the data shows. In large urban areas of the upper Midwest, a region that includes swing states Michigan and Wisconsin, for example, the number of people who said they were certain to vote in the upcoming presidential election rose by 10 percentage points to 67% compared with survey responses from 2015.

‘Its like winning the World Series 4 games to 2, but losing by a large margin in the two losses.’
when the Pirates won the 1960 WS, 4 games to three, for weeks afterwards I had to listen to all the Yankee fans in NE Jersey telling me how badly the Pirates were outplayed; it was in fact a true statement (pitcher Bob Friend in particular) but none of them truly believed it...just steam being released...
This “BLUE WAVE” is the same material if frozen is the same as Joe Dirt’s meteor.
Dang, I better self-quarantine. If I’m left alive after the plague sweeps through the city, my Republican vote actually might count for something.
It’s time to ramp up the cheating machine as their dog whistle blows. This election will be a disgusting and vile event by the left.
[Article is spot on.
The white, college educated, urban and suburban voters are not voting Trump. Heck I see that on FB with all my friends who meet criteria above. They cant stand Trump especially white women.]
The extent to which they had to torture the numbers to come out with this headline is revealing enough to dismiss this as nonsense.
Florida just clocked a +14k R voter registration advantage over the Dems and there is no R primary to bring people out.
Democrat Urban Bastions are Panicking.
“Are these people worked up, but still anti-Trump anyway?”
The democrat party (Sanders/Warren) left them but they don’t like Trump. They would vote Bloomburg or Hillary or maybe a Klobuchar.
This is going to be a incredibly close election. Trump does not have it in the bag. Over 50% of the country are now the takers. Healthcare cost are killing people and it needs addressed by Trump and Republicans soon. HC is the #1 issue with 2020 voters.
My wife and I are both age 58. Our health insurance premium is $1900 a month with $8000 deductible each.
The Local media has been trying to downplay this since early this morning. I love the downcast looks and words used especially when they of course had to pan to the “protesters”, at best 20 of them as the media here is infected by the Hollywood virus and playing to the “Millenial Mob”
Not the state I grew up in, but then neither is California the state I was born in

We could probably fix this by abolishing the antitrust exemption (i.e. the monopsony power) for health insurance companies (i.e. preventing them from getting discounts on drugs and medical services over cash payers). But outlawing price discrimination would probably shut down the health insurance companies. Which means existing beneficiaries would scream bloody murder.
Which brings us back to single-payer. Drug company employees and workers in the health care sector are gonna take hefty cuts to their compensation. I gotta wonder how it will play out in the end. Are trial lawyers finally gonna take a hit because tort liability for medical malpractice and drug side-effects are finally capped by constitutional amendment?
That Blue Wave must be the advertisement on the side of the Greyhound buses, bringing all those illegal voters to the big cities so the Left can claim the popular vote.
“The white, college educated, urban and suburban voters are not voting Trump.”
that’s odd, because pretty much ALL of my urban and suburban college educated friends are voting for Trump, including myself ...
“The white, college educated, urban and suburban voters are not voting Trump.”
no doubt they’re all chomping at the bit to either vote for an avowed communist who’s promised to massively raise their taxes and cancel their health insurance or an autocratic, sociopathic oligarch who promises to kill them when they get old and sick ...
Online Poll on this topic? How many types of bias?
You cant swing a dead cat without seeing a Trump bumper sticker here in so fl
Blue wave - does it look like the blue wave in a toilet that uses the blue disinfectant....pretty blue waves with every flush...
