Rosie O'Donnell's NJ Home Is Getting Turned Into Affordable Units

SADDLE RIVER, NJ – As part of a fair housing settlement with Saddle River, a 5-acre estate once owned by Rosie O'Donnell will be redeveloped into affordable units.

An agreement was reached Monday that calls for the development of 139 housing units to help satisfy Saddle River's obligation to provide housing for low-income people and individuals with disabilities, according to a press release from the Fair Share Housing Center.

Under the settlement, O'Donnell's former home on East Allendale Road, along with two adjacent lots, will be converted into eight affordable homes, the release said. The one-time home of the comedian and TV personality is still actively listed on Realtor.com for $5.9 million. It has been on-and-off the market since November 2015, when it was first listed for just under $7 million.

Borough officials also agreed "to strict timelines for construction of affordable units to ensure that working families will be able to move into the borough in the next few years," the Cherry Hill-based housing rights advocacy group said.

"This landmark settlement agreement will give working families, particularly people of color, the chance to move into one of America's wealthiest towns,"

I’m sure the neighbors are thrilled

Her skirts should be turned into affordable tents.

Her dresses are simply circus tents with a hole cut in the top.

That property is a couple of houses down from the local grammar school I attended in the mid 60’s. Dad used to joke that there was one democrat in town, on the “other” side of the highway.

Also, when Dave wanted a building for the Packard Foundation
in Los Altos Hills, the Planning Dept said no. After he suggested he’d go ahead with affordable housing, the Foundation got it’s headquarters.

Did O’donnel give it or sell it to the city? Was it her idea? If she didn’t have anything to do with it why bring her up, just because she once owned it?

What about MS13 members? They're 'people' too...

That school will soon have its average test scores go down.

For those that care too look, the property is at 115 E Allendale Rd, Saddle River, NJ 07458.

It’s a borough, not a city. The forced development is an example Jerry Brown’s ‘Coercive Power of the State’.
Richard Nixon retired about a mile away.

It just came to me that Richard Nixon lived in Saddle River. The house at 15 Charlden Drive was bought by a Japanese businessman who let the place deteriorate and has since been demolished.

True story. Nixon relieved his Secret Service protection. Somehow, my dad, by hook or crook got the job to install exterior lighting around Nixon's house. I recall him saying most of the lights were up in the trees. My dad smoked and always carried around a cup of coffee. He was doing just that walking around the property while his workers were up in the trees. The whole time he was followed by two burly men.

The homes to be built will be “affordable” based on the current home values in Saddle River and the surrounding area.

Don’t expect them to be below $600,000...the cheapest house for sale in Saddle River now is $850,000, a 3 bedroom/2 bath ranch on 1/2 acre lot, built in 1965.

The “Affordable Housing” is a scam to force the suburbs to “buy” housing credits from the blighted Democrat run cities a wealth transfer scam...

Borough officials also agreed "to strict timelines for construction of affordable units to ensure that working families will be able to move into the borough in the next few years,"

The fear that causes opposition to "affordable" housing is that working folks will be supplanted by welfare leeches in the next round of social engineering.

“...once owned by Rosie O’Donnell...”

So, she had nothing whatsoever to do with this. Some news hack just had to tie her in with it.

OK, Rosie should rent one of the units and live there daily for 6 months of every year. THEN tie her into it.

Wait wait wait! Lena Dunham, Rosie O’Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg promised to flee the U.S. for Canada if Trump was elected. They’re all Canadians now. Right?

The Nixon house was previously owned by the Alford family. One friend had a place in Vermont and used dynamite to blow stumps. Another friend carried an empty dynamite box in the back of his pickup and drove back ad forth past the SS cameras along the road.

Great fun.
