since earnhardt sr. died in a wreck there have been extensive safety equipment upgrades inside race cars as well as on racetracks... with that said all race car drivers know before getting behind the wheel there’s always a risk of being injured or killed...
it’s part of their life of living their sport...
A miracle of he survives that impact. A miracle
Crash was coming out of turn 4. Don’t know how they couldn’t have seen it. Or his spotter seeing it and radioing him about it.
Video wasn’t real clear. Guy was saying he could see them doing CPR. Could be wrong. Hope for the best.
“They were performing CPR and chest compressions on Newman as they pulled him out of his car. Terrible”
OMG! I was watching the race and another car at high speed smashed right into his driver side door while inverted. While Googling his condition I came across he and his wife announced a separation just in the last few days. They have a couple of young Daughters.....just horrible!
Prayers
Prayers up for Ryan Newman.
Hard prayers for Ryan Newman tonight. Great family man. It was an intentional wreck, but it’s part of racing and Hamlin (as much of I don’t like him) was doing his job. No way he was hoping for an outcome that resulted in a serious injury.
NOT turn 4!! Earnhart’s fatal last turn on the last lap. This breaks my heart
I hate to say it but I think they would have used a helicopter to transport him instead of an ambulance if he had survived.
it wasn’t intentional...
Ping
I agree with you...however..there is this tweet from someone:
“Driver side impact of Ryan Newman’s car. Car not being covered up is a great sign. Damge would explain why it might’ve taken so long to get Ryan out. Safety crew might’ve had to cut large enough window for escape. Car was also upside too. Crew members said he’s awake.#DAYTONA500”
I thought Earnhardt’s crash was going IN to turn 4, whereas I think today’s crash was just after coming OUT of turn 4 onto the home “straight” (which at Daytona is actually curved).
I’m beginning to think that it’s NOT Talladega that’s HAUNTED...
here is the wreck if you want to see it..doesnt show Hamlin before teammate clips ryan

Yes the person who tweeted the video took it down. He apologized for his lack of judgement.
I just remember it was the last turn of the last lap. Then home
NOT LOOKING VERY GOOD PING!!!
Prayers for Ryan Newman, Medical Teams, Family and Crewmembers.
Got punched in the Drivers door while upside down at full speed.
I hate to say it but Im pretty sure that Weve lost Ryan Newman tonight.
