We know it’s out there and we don’t like it.

What's up with that?

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.
Soon there will be disruptions to the production, processing, packaging and distribution of food within China. Urban areas will especially be hard hit. There will be social disruptions and political instability
Thanks

FYI, there wasn’t a single elastic release cat collar to be found anywhere in town today (anywhere means 5 places). I had called last week because Mr. 8 Lives pulls his off and there were plenty on the shelves. There goes the Made in China supply.
I saw a vid on Twitter of a guy in China walking around his “community.” At one point he said that he thinks the total deaths is likely to be >100,000.
Wouldn’t you know, I can’t find that vid now, but I’ll keep looking.
It’s gone. The vid is down. CCP must have gotten to the guy and insist he take it down.
He was basically strolling through his “community,” which I guess you are allowed to be outside in before today, and he showed the community gate operations and how dead everything was around him.
Then, during running commentary, he said that the number of dead was likely closer to 100,000, and his wife was thinking 200,000, but he went back down to 100,000. He mentioned the fact that many of the apartments around him haven’t had people coming out, so he doesn’t know if they are alive or dead inside (paraphrased).
Pisses me off that I watched it only a hour or so ago and it is gone. Next time, I will try to grab it.
