There are currently 69,036 confirmed cases worldwide, including 1,666 fatalities.
Thanks for the good news. Ill tell everyone to go home now. Just the flu.
“This isnt a pandemic... yet. Not even close.”
I’m not sure if the government of China agrees, considering that they have something like 400 Million on lockdown.
There are 9,396 recoveries.

And it looks like the growth rate is going down after China made the big adjustment on 02/13.
Singapore is 80 degrees and very humid
and yet it is still spreading in clusters
Or maybe 24 days.
Just a more nasty flu bug.
Really? There are currently over 11,000 in serious/critical condition on respirators. There condition is called ground glass lungs and is very likely fatal. Look for the death toll to increase quickly over the next couple of weeks.
Ok. Lets stop the bickering. One or two days slight decline is not a reversal. This thing is still in an upward trajectory, and its showing up all over the place.
Give it time in India, Africa, and any of the other cesspools in the world.
And why no word from Indonesia?
So, enough with the this is nothingstuff. To 400 million chines and bunch of other folks its pretty serious.
And as I write to people every day, this is probably not going to kill you. But within a couple of weeks it will affect almost everyone in some way. The Just in Time world is about to get its ass kicked. Try building cars without parts.
Well said.
It’s decimating the supply chain out of China.
Hubby and I sit and think of what we might need in a 6-9m period that would suck if we couldn’t get...fan belts, filters, etc would shut us down quick if they weren’t available for our make/model of car.
multiply by all the other intricacies.
..for want of a nail...
It is funny to hear from these armchair epidemiologists who think it’s no worse than a bad cold.
I had a detailed answer written up, but I’ll wait for their apologies, as they find their hospitals overflowing and their new I-Phones nowhere to be found.
It’s not worth my time.
Just wondering if you think we discuss because we are afraid of getting sick? You are seeing a sci fi novel come to life. The overwhelming of the health care system and the almost complete shut down of the single greatest supplier of just about everything is happening before your eyes.
This will be studied for hundreds of years to come.
So, when you are prepared to contribute to the conversation, you are welcome. If you wish to bark like the drunk at the end of the bar, just move to the other room.
One way they are distributing food:

They swarm every new thread. I just ignore, and keep posting information.
Please see post 34.
I cringe every time I hear someone cough on TV.
Yeah, 90-100% of people who contract this require O2 tanks or ventilators. No big deal.
You continually use the ChiCom numbers which are obvious bull$hit to anyone with more than two functioning brain cells.
Those of us with family or friends inside China know better, but dont give a damn if you listen to our warnings or not.
From a blogger who used to be sure it wouldnt spread: (The Furai.com)
Yesterday was a watershed day for news about COVID-19, or Wuhan Novel Coronavirus, whichever name you prefer. Four huge stories:
First, Americas CDC announced they would be testing flu patients in major U.S. cities as part of an early warning system. Seriously? Imagine there was a zoo, close to your home, caging dangerous animalsdeadly lions, tigersetc. Your close proximity to the zoo has never bothered you. Youve trusted the danger is contained by the experts running the zoo. Youre not afraid to go outside, send your children to schooletc. The killer animals are contained. The experts have them all locked up where they cant hunt anyone, cant kill anyone. Then, an official knocks on your door and asks, You havent seen any tigers in the neighborhood have you? No. Any large animal footprints? No. Any large fecal deposits? No. Finally, exasperated, and a little horrified you ask, Are you trying to tell me, a fricking tiger has escaped? No, of course not. Well, why are you looking for an escaped tiger if it hasnt escaped? Its an early warning system.’ Dont be naive folks. Its out. Coronavirus is out. They know its out. Yes, this is only anecdotal evidence, but its STRONG. Imagine if these cities were randomly testing for Ebola? Or Polio? Or the Black Death? What they are witnessing in Singapore, Japan, Hawaii, and other first world countries has convinced them the tiger is not in the cage. Either that, or they know its out, and theyre hiding the truth.
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) Calling it an early warning system, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar announced Friday that flu patients in San Francisco, Seattle, New York, Los Angeles and Chicago would also undergo testing for the coronavirus.
Coronavirus is spreading, like a pandemic virus, in Singapore, a first world country. This means there is likely unidentified risk and or vectors. If COVID-19 can spread in Singapore, it is probably spreading in other first world nationsincluding America.
A Japanese man caught Coronavirus in
wait for it
. HAWAII!! WTF? How is that possible? THEY DONT KNOW! He first arrived on Maui on Jan. 28 and later developed cold-like symptoms on Feb. 3 while on Oahu. The man sought medical help at a hospital in Japan after he returned, according to Hawaii Department of Health Director Bruce Anderson.
Americans trapped aboard that Japanese cruise ship are coming home THANKS PRESIDENT TRUMP! I like to believe our great president listened to my plea below on 2/13/2020.
“Try building cars without parts.”
OH PLEASE, so they’ll deliver cars without an alternator, or perhaps without a windshield, or maybe no gas tank - but you’ll still get most of the car.
So please, how about NOT setting off a panic by claiming cars will not be built. They WILL get built - we’ll just have to adjust to the new ‘styles’.
Supply chains will adjust.
We had better get our medical and pharmaceutical supply chains adjusted yesterday, as China is done for a while.
