There are quite a few people who take the position that since these companies are "private", it's okay for them to censor speech. I keep telling people that if "private" owned companies that control huge amounts of public communications are allowed to censor speech, then governments will exert back door pressure to force them to censor speech which these governments don't approve.
China already does this with google. Google does whatever the Chinese government tells it to do. We also know that if someone like Obama was in power here, they would use the power of the Federal government to force large carriers of mass communications to censor speech they didn't like.
We need to put a stop to allowing anyone who carries large quantities of public speech to engage in censorship. They need to be given the choice, "Either carry it all, or you will not be allowed to operate in this nation."
Seems that they would be within their rights to censor explicit content.
There is an inequality of speech. These mass communications systems are the only effective means for speaking to large audiences for some people.
It is not only unfair that the left can use them and people on our side cannot, it is also immensely dangerous.
There are thousands of places on the internet he can go to discuss sodomy to his heart's content.

Yes, but facebook currently enjoys legal protection from content based lawsuits because they claim they do not exercise editorial control.
They either have to stop editing based on political opinion OR give up the legal protection and be treated like a newspaper, or Verizon. What they are doing is like Verizon cancelling your service if you call the Trump campaign number.

Well, that’s going a little beyond just a normal discussion. Comments like those probably violate some rule they have regarding “hate speech” or whatever they choose to call it. Of course, those policies are never enforced against leftists and are often interpreted broadly when it comes to speech from right-wingers to the point that all criticism is considered hate, but that’s probably the reason you’re getting the bans. (Not sure if they tell you what rule you supposedly violated when they ban you on Facebook.)

They may be objecting to the use of the word “sodomy”, which has come to be a pejorative. Discussing “gay sex” might be acceptable.
They refer me to the community standards and fair enough it can be considered hate speech due to sexual orientation. Fine but then what can you say. Can you mention what happened to Sodom? In those standards though it is clear they don’t enforce the intolerance of death threats if they are uttered by Muslims. Trump needs to investigate Facebook because they have a legal duty to report death threats to authorities.

I use to be of the opinion that it is from government we should fear censorship. I did not foresee this mass corporate conspiracy to promote a liberal point of view by Google and Facebook. I underestimated the how human reliance on these companies would grant them so much power over us.
