This is a special episode of the Sara Carter Show. Sara A. Carter spoke with Jennifer Brian of the Southeastern Guide Dog School about the new addition to Sara's family, a new guide dog for her husband. Brian explained to Carter how the special bond between the animal and the owner is created and how the training process begins before the dog is even born.

TOPICS: Health/Medicine; Military/Veterans; Pets/Animals
KEYWORDS: blindness; guidedogs; saracarter; veterans
We all know Sara as a fantastic investigative journalist, but this is a very personal account of when her husband lost his sight as the result of a grenade & how a guide dog has impacted his life and that of Sara's family. It's GOOD STUFF, great story - might need a tissue handy!

She’s an amazing person, and it sounds like her husband is too.

He lost his sight, and she sees things no one else does. Looks for things no one else does.

His attitude is pretty incredible .... something inspirational for everyone & Sara is ‘the best’. At the very end, describing her own relationship with the old guide dog (retired) is heart warming.

She is amazing. You never know what incredible stories lie behind everyone’s facade. There are three different states of a person. 1) The way a person see themselves 2) the way other people see them, and 3) the way they really are (only God truly sees that). The hidden things are reserved usually between the 1st and 3rd cases. I am occasionally astounded to find out the hidden things in people, both good and bad.

Thanks for your thoughts. I like your list very much, and I agree. Ultimately, more than anything we may accomplish in life, trying to improve ourselves and making those 'hidden things' things that are good is more important and our biggest challenge.

What a shame Sara’s husband cannot see how beautiful she is.

I agree, but you don’t need eyes to see beauty. Especially inner beauty love and goodness.
