If anyone thought the soap-opera sale of the New York Mets couldnt get any crazier after the Steve Cohen debacle, they were A-Rod levels of wrong.
According to multiple sources, the newest name to emerge as a potential suitor to buy the Mets is none other than Alex Rodriguez. Baseball and Wall Street insiders told The Post that the controversial former Yankees superstar is kicking the tires on the idea of getting into an upcoming auction for the team. This comes after Cohen, the billionaire hedge fund manager, walked away from a $2.6 billion deal for 80 percent of the team last week upon learning that the Wilpon family would not be surrendering control for the first five years of his ownership.
While sources told The Post that Cohen has not yet fully given up on his chances of purchasing the Mets, rumors of A-Rods interest have intensified.
Hes a businessman and a baseball man based in New York, said one A-Rod ally. Why wouldnt he be looking at this?

I’m sure he’ll crack down on PED usage by his players. /S
Is jello in the deal ?
Wilpons are fools. Who puts up billions and doesn’t get control.
When you buy a car you don’t tell the previous owner “hey feel free to keep driving for another five years.”
Lol. When you buy a house, the previous owners dont live with you for the next 5 years.
Why this cheater is still given any respect in baseball is beyond my ability to comprehend.
Please no. Go away A-Fraud and take J-Ho with you.
I hear you on J-Lo. But here’s the thing: The woman is in her 50s and is still knock-down gorgeous. That says more about older women today, having access to physical conditioning, beauty regimen, etc than even 20 years ago. I mean, have you seen Jennifer Aniston lately?
"I'm Keith Hernandez."

I didn't know ARod has that kind of scratch, but I hope he does. The Wilpons are awful owners and we need someone willing to compete with the Yankees.
40 days until opening day. It looks like the good Lord is giving me another seat in the bleachers to watch my favorite team. Life is good, my friend.
It's a beautiful thing to have intelligent and funny baseball men broadcasting games. For the majority of years over the last six decades it has been one of the GREAT JOYS of my life. I miss the greats we had here, and Steve Blass just retired last year.
But we still have Bob Walk who makes me laugh every now and then.
Enjoy that seat in the bleachers watching those Mets.
"Life is good, my friend."

Maybe, by the All Star game someone in D.C. will be arrested.
