The San Diego Padres scrapped their newly designed hats on the eve of spring training after appalled fans on social media compared it to a swastika.
The hat, created by MLB and the New Era headwear company for spring training, featured the Padres’ mascot swinging over an interlocking “S” and “D” — the team’s main logo.
The mishmash cut off the top of the “S,” leading some to say it resembled the emblem most commonly associated with Nazis.

anything on a padre uni is subjet to be seen by just handful of people. I live in ASD county and see little SD gear and watch no games. The blue hats the most popular.
No, specifically, it’s the NAZIs which gets really tiresome. No one was ever as evil and mean as Germans in the ‘30s and ‘40s, per these idiots.

I really can’t tell what that logo is supposed to be. I can see the supposed Nazi thing in the middle (after going looking for it), and I can see what looks like a baseball bat. The whole thing looks like a bunch of Malarkey.
I figured they’d be more offended by the Padre, you know, the Spanish Inquisition and all that.
A tad over the top, seeing the swastika in the new mash-up logo. Still, this whole mash-up hat logo idea from MLB came up with 30 new revenue streams for MLB, Inc. No matter that at least half of them are f-ugly!

As far as a graphic design on a baseball cap, it’s really bad. It violates every tenant of graphics that you should follow on that product. If it was any more complex and overloaded with confusing detail it would be a Rorschach blot.
Reluctantly, I am now convinced that there are people on the left who literally sit at a desk all day long and look for things that they can find to complain about and perhaps get some attention, Their 15 minutes of fame as it were.

Probably somebody went to the MLB online shop and bought ten of these.
Then he hopped on his Twitter account and launched this absurd exercise in outrage.
He is now in the possession of the only 10 that will ever be sold, which should pretty much finance his retirement several decades from now.
How about telling the complainer to change his meds, and sticking to existing design?
