Today’s Cryptogram

Posted on 02/14/2020 5:22:46 AM PST by nikos1121

Today’s challenging and poignant CG is from The Arkansas Gazette.

LZYK KZO TYKOHJBCCYH TYCCR KZO OVP WA KZO LWHCP, KZO DYRKOH TYCCR Y EQKKOHACG. ---HBTZYHP EYTZ

You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.

If you're just starting out on these, be patient, as you'll be proficient in no time.

If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hal’s Helper below:

You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.

Many of you found this one kinda tricky.

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Almost automatic. Repeated occurrence (4X) of a common three letter word helps.

I actually found that one easy. I have realized that if I can get 5 correct letters, the puzzle will then begin to work itself out fairly quickly. At this point, one or two words will then become obvious, and then you just slide down hill.
So in that example, I got the t at the end of don’t,, that gave me to, which gave me on, and that gave me into, and the solo letter is an a. That is five letters...

I likely tried to be too obscure, since I’m a kaiju fan. :-)

First two words by inspection, and words 5-9 became obvious, and away I flew.
