Keeping electric cars charged seems like such an easy process: plug the car into power and wait a while. But in reality keeping cars like our Tesla Model X fully charged can actually be quite the challenge. In this video we take a look at the different charging options to learn which is the easiest, the most intuitive and the fastest way to keep your electric vehicle car charged. This applies to all new and used electric vehicles. From the Nissan Leaf, to the Tesla Model 3 to even the Fiat 500e if you are thinking of owning or own one of these full electrics, this video is for you!

Open a Hot Dog stand next to the charging station.
That would seem logical but the car makers are abandoning the hybrids. I think it has to do with the additional weight and engineering overhead of having 2 power sources on one platform.
WIll it fold up into a briefcase?
We may well see a replay of what happened with diesel passenger vehicles. They were originally pushed as a low-cost, high-mileage alternative to gasoline-powered vehicles; diesel cost less than gas, and I even remember videos about folks running their diesels on 'free' fryer oil. The days of cheap or 'free' diesel fuel are long gone.
As more people use electric cars, some associated costs are likely to increase, and other restrictions (regulatory or infrastructure related) are likely rear their heads as well. Plus, electric vehicles simply won't work for some applications. They may just become part of a mixed (reality-based) solution...
Like it or not, whether it makes sense in any way or not, it is coming. The children will see to it. They actually believe the codswallop they have been fed. Fear is a great motivator. Electrics do not interfere with what most of them consider “normal”. And no, they don’t know where the base energy comes from and probably don’t care. It is too complicated for them.
No feral mandates will be necessary but the politicians will not be able to resist blowing the money. Just standard customer demand will do but who cares as long as you can spend other people’s money.
Absolutely.
Last week the CEO of GM said they are going to eliminate the internal combustion engine because Climate Change is real. They better get rid of this woman or GM will go bankrupt again and no Obongo this time.
“The charging time and having to have an extra 220 outlet to charge at home seems to be a nonstarter.”
I could wire-in a 220V outlet in my sleep for an electric car.
...but I won’t. I still have to live with myself.
Someday Fusion technology will make it and very low emission power can be produced.
Only the dumb ones who buy into the whole SJW climate change nonsense.
The smart ones are betting on hybrids
More and more I am very happy with my choice of a $32k PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) bought in 2018. I have got 500+ miles of range using the gas engine yet can go 30 miles local on battery alone. A110v outlet recharges me from 0 to 30 miles on battery in 7 hours.
“and the heater in winter at the same rate.”
Skip the heater part, you will NEVER get that. The heater on a normal car is waste heat from the fuel being burned - it is essentially ‘free’, regarding fuel consumption. For an electric car, the fuel is usually being burned hundreds of miles away, at the power plant (hence making the car ‘clean’, I guess).
Has he filed with the state to pay the gasoline road taxes he's evading?
place charging stations next to no tell motels...
Nah. We will wake up, embrace Thorium and distributed power via small LiFTR plants that arrive on a semi-trailer and are buried in 200 foot deep pits with just a small block house control room on top. This will all be made possible by building on Oak Ridge work done in the 60s by implementing a Manhattan Project size initiative demanded by a well informed public. Problems solved.

I have a friend that has invented an electric truck. It’s a fantastic invention, he has a multitude of PO’s but can not find an investor. The government loves to talk electric vehicles but doesn’t follow through. Private investors don’t have the capital it takes. The concept of electric is great but where’s the $$$ ?
Well, heck. I thought it would just be a simple solar panel.
Oh sure. That.
You have to remember that these Greenie Mittsweasels are the same irresponsible scum that pushed the CFL mercury bomblets on us with NO clear disposal strategy.
If they open their lying childish yaps in front of you, remind them of their CFL pile of cr@p - just before you bust their teeth out...
A new battery for that Camaro would have set your son back maybe $200.00.
How much $ will a new battery run for the Tesla?
