My morning scan of earthquake activity revealed a smattering of micro-quakes around Yellowstone (23-24 in a 3-hour period) Because I Live less than 10 miles from Taal Volcano, it got my 'feelers' up. We had a few weeks of this stuff before its big blow on January 12.

Those Yellowstone swarms continue to disappoint us. Premature seismification.

Dutchsinse is pretty much gone, I checked SuspiciousObservers.org and they aren’t mentioning it.

Well, it sure seems to have Bjorn Borg terrified.

Did you try the change to settings I mentioned in Post #2?
For some reason, the USGS site defaulted to a less sensitive setting when you click the link

If it blows Trump might be president forever.

Is that the same thing as premature eruption?

Some of us got ‘educated’ during our on-going Taal eruption adventure.
It seems that magma movements look different on seismographs than do the fault shift-triggered quakes.
I have not tried to tax my aging, feeble brain with more knowledge than tat to this point in time

Actually there is a huge caldera of volcanic lava under tremendous pressure beneath Yellowstone. The last time it blew was over 200,000 years ago. Geologists say it does this about every 200,000 years. However it’s about 50,000 years over due. If it does blow, goodbye pretty much all of North America(meaning about 98% of America) and a good 1/4 of Mexico and Canada.

But are there any actual magnitudes measured on these quakes? “Big, small, many, few’ don’s tell seismologists/ geologists very much.
