Should have hired a more reliable moving company.

Years ago I watched movers talk a huge grand piano...like the one pictured...out of a 5th story window or door with a crane. Didn't stick around long enough to see if they dropped it but it was an interesting sight.

IIRC, there are specialized moving companies that handle rare and expensive items like this. Of course they cost a bit more than ‘Two Guys and a Truck’..................

Guess it’s time to start a GoFundMe page.

Its a recurring theme. Pianos are tough to move, especially from upper floors.

I didn’t know Fazoli’s made pianos. Made that’s why it broke. Uncooked pasta is kind of brittle, and cooked pasta is limp.

That really is a grand piano.

I would think that something that rare and valuable would be worth repairing ... if the damage isn’t catastrophic.

Italian engineer and pianist Paolo Fazioli, the owner of Fazioli Pianos, declared the handmade instrument "unsalvageable," Hewitt wrote.Oh ... never mind.

Not to poke fun at this woman’s loss (I feel badly for her - that piano cannot be replaced), but this reminds me of an episode of the Laurel and Hardy show when Ollie and Stan were moving a piano up a huge flight of stairs to a mansion. Let’s just say that the piano was a bit worse for wear after they got through with it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgqXVeIPSzA This is about 5 minutes, and there’s a lot of not-so-subtle un-PC stuff in it (IOW, it is funny). Note that this is colorized, and if you let it play to its conclusion there is the original 27-minute B&W version.

Between the insurance the movers had better have had, and the insurance the pianist should have on the instrument, it should be possible to have another one built, though it means being without her personal instrument for some time.
The fourth pedal is an interesting addition (and apparently unique to Fazioli pianos). It reduces the distance of the hammer throws without damping the strings, so the tone of the instrument isn’t changed but the volume is. It’s listed on their webpage as a component of their F308 piano, so it’s not that this piano is a one-off, but rather is rare just because no one else has ordered one.

Krazy glue. It will be back like new in no time.
