Best Selling Writer and Psychologist, Jordan Peterson is slowly recovering from a near death experience
American Thinker ^ | 02/12/2020 | Andrea Widburg

After his wife was diagnosed with cancer, Jordan Peterson went on an anti-anxiety drug to cope with the stress. It turned out that the drug was toxic and he was sensitive. His daughter Mikhaila Peterson, who first notified people about the situation in September, recently posted an updated video about Jordan Peterson’s near-death experience.

In her September 2019 video, Mikhaila talked about the shock to the family when Tammy Roberts, her mother and Peterson’s wife, was diagnosed with cancer. After a successful surgery, Roberts had a bad reaction and almost died. Because Canadian doctors couldn’t cope with Roberts’ illness, she ended up hospitalized in America. The American doctors saved her.

Peterson never left Roberts’ side, but the stress was extreme. His doctor put him on a low dose of Clonazepam, a benzodiazepine. What no one in the family knew is that Clonazepam is highly addictive (two weeks will do it) and some people’s chemistry makes withdrawal unusually difficult.

Peterson ended up in a rehab program to get weaned off of Clonazepam. He was put on other, milder, shorter-acting benzodiazepines. Mikhaila was happy to report that her dad was recovering and her mom was out of the woods. And that’s where the story ended in September 2019.

Last week, though, Mikhaila came back with a deeply disturbing update about Peterson:

Here’s a brief rundown of what Mikhaila says: The rehab treatments were not working. The family finally found a rehab center in Russia that offered emergency medical benzodiazepine detox. By the time Peterson was hospitalized in Russia, though, he had pneumonia and ended up spending four weeks in the ICU. He was put in an induced coma for eight days and almost died.

It is a perfect example of why you should just deal with it as opposed to medicating.

Twelve step programs seem to be criticized a lot, but they are life savers when it comes to stressful events such as this. Over the years I have seen many people face calamity and often give off more strength than those who are offering comfort. The power of God runs deeper than we can ever imagine.

I don't know if Dr.Peterson's recovery from addiction will include a twelve step program, but I believe he would find it fascinating. Hopefully, he will have a full recovery, whichever course he chooses.

‘Act as if God exists’? Sounds like Jordan’s core problem is a lack of belief in the Promises of God his Creator.

This is the best selling book that Prof. Peterson wrote that helped a lot of people. He is sympathetic to Christianity and to religion, but is himself agnostic.

Pretending that God is was at the heart of what Jesus said regarding those to whom He will say “Depart from me, I never knew you”. Asked: Can a man truly seek God if he is only pretending God IS?

Please Jordan, get tested for mercury poisoning. The reactions you experienced are not typical from the meds you were taking. /tinfoil

If you are in a bucket of poop up to your neck the last thing you need is a pill that makes you feel good about being in a bucket of poop up to your neck.

I guess Canadian medicine sucks; The United States has some excellent rehab centers for withdrawal.

Clonazapam is highly addictive, extremely hard to wean off of, and should only be used for extremely short periods. I have a friend who got hooked on it in an eating disorder rehab center, and 10 years later is still working off of it (down from 8mg a day to 1mg, so almost there). It does nothing for her, but if she skips it for more than a day or two, goes into withdrawal.

I don’t know what his particular issue was, not sure how he got Pneumonia, doesn’t seem like the usual side effect, and frankly going to Russia to get treatment seems to be a bad choice.

during a 3 month period in 2014 my mom died, my wife was diagnosed with cancer, my daughter OD’d and woke up blind and paralyzed and I was told that I was going to lose my job due to outrsourcing....

Did I turn to drugs or alchohol... no... I turned to God with all my being and gave it to Him... 6 years later... on all fronts... there is peace... and a renewed faith that Gid is real.

Prayers for this man and family.

He is such a great modern day thinker.

Without specific intention he Completely disarms the left.

Just had gotten my wife interested in listening to him.

So glad there is so much of his material available though doubt YouTube appreciates how many click on his interviews / talks.

Prayers for Jordan !

EXACTLY! I also included exercising until I was just relaxed and exhausted so that I would sleep and be refreshed. God got me through a lot with prayer and just being in His arms when nothing else could help.

I think I read that Peterson used to be a heavy drinker. His fear of sliding back to that and his wife’s diagnosis is probably what led him to try the pills.

My takeaway:

“Enforced lies have the power to invade the inviolable core of every individual. That is the fundamental evil of Marxism.”

Leftist are always trying to enforce their lies.
