He wasn't serious and said that he wouldn't even take the job if he had won.

You can't always go by what's on line, in a book, or on T.V.! I was there, an adult, and still remember it all as though it was yesterday.

Tombstone votes are the only reliable Democrat vote.

“1 Mary Maxwell (Write in, random NH resident)”
____________________

Correction: Mary Maxwell actually is on the GOP presidential ballot in NH. I saw sample Democrat and GOP ballots at the Union Leader website this morning (they were from a Manchester precinct, but presumably the candidates are the same in every precinct in the state), and “Mary Maxwell (Concord, NH)”was one of like 15 or so Republicans. NH has very low barriers to entry for candidates, and thus certainly gives voters a lot of options.

On a related matter, please remember that unaffiliated voters can vote in either (but not both) primaries, but that voting in a party’s primary automatically enrolls them with such party. That means that a Left-leaning independent that voted in the GOP primary last time (say, for Kasich or Pataki) and forgot to re-register as unaffiliated afterwards is still registered as a Republican. If such voter wants to go cast a vote for Biden or Buttiegeg or Klobuchar or whomever in the Democrat primary he will find out that he only can vote in the GOP primary, since registered Republicans can’t vote in the Democrat primary. This happens dozens (if not hundreds) of times every four year, and what many of these voters do is ask for the Republican ballot and write-in the Democrat of their choice (and vice versa for conservative independents who voted in the Democrat primary four years earlier). When the final results are in, you’ll find that Trump will get quite a few write-in votes in the Democrat primary and each of the Democrat candidates will get a few write-in votes in the GOP primary.

Why did you post the name of two men to me, in response to a post that neither mentioned a decade nor names of anyone?

Did you intend the reply to some other post?

That is why you got a "HUNH"? ( meaning: WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? ) from me.

Meldrim Thomson Jr (March 8, 1912 – April 19, 2001) was an American politician who served three terms as governor of the U.S. state of New Hampshire from 1973 to 1979. A Republican, he was known as a strong supporter of conservative political values.

William "Bill" Loeb III (December 26, 1905 – September 14, 1981), was publisher of the Manchester Union Leader newspaper (later The New Hampshire Union Leader) in Manchester, New Hampshire, for thirty-five years from 1946 until his death. His unyieldingly conservative political views helped to make The Union Leader one of the best-known small papers in the country. The publication benefited from nationwide attention every four years during the New Hampshire primary.

Oh I know who Bill Loeb was but not Mr. Thompson.

Thanks for that info; though it still has almost NOTHING at all to do with my original post!

I've noticed before that happens in NH but never thought about why. 👌
