The U.S. Senate has 53 Republicans and 47 Democrats (including two independents). There are 35 seats up in 2020 - including special elections in Arizona and Georgia - of which 23 are held by the GOP. Democrats will need to gain 3 or 4 seats to take control.
Currently, the U.S Senate is controlled by the Republicans. As of January, 2019, they control 53 Senate seats, Democrats 45, with 2 independents caucusing as Democrats (effectively giving them 47 seats). In 2020, 34 Senate seats are up for election, 22 held by Republicans, 12 by Democrats. As the Vice-President will break any ties, Democrats would need to gain 3 seats and win the presidency to take control in a 50-50 Senate as of January, 2021.
If they win the Senate, Washington DC and Puerto Rico will be fast-tracked for statehood.
There is a little bit of a cushion here because Jones is a sure pick up.
D.C. statehood is unconstitutional. The parasites in Puerto Rico don’t want to pay income taxes although you are correct that it would certainly be a GOP setback. I think PR will remain status quo.
With Trump on the ticket, I think we only lose Colorado.
We keep Arizona, Kansas, Maine, North Carolina and the 2 Georgia seats.

I believe it’s constitutionally required for DC to never be a state. Would take an amendment.
Thank you....I’ve been encouraging people elections for House and Senate are equally as significant as voting for Trump this year because the Demorats are already fired up to take both In November to stop Trump’s agenda entirely, and further believe this will set the stage entirely for the 2024 Presidential race. Which they’re aready working on....5 yrs. out is their norm.

We could live with another democrat reign of stupidity in the House but we absolutely CANNOT lost the Senate, or the next impeachment vote will turn out very differently.
Admitting new states will be the least of our worries, they will remove Trump if they win the Senate.
Well the map looks hopeful with only 4 tossups.

Puerto Rico would make a good penal colony. Plenty of government jobs created at a lower wage rate. Empty Rikers island.
