A tradition stretching back nearly two decades, the annual gift bag from marketing company Distinctive Assets gives select nominees in the Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Best Director categories up to 75 bespoke gifts.
Peasant that I am, I cant get the image of Brad Pitt wandering around with a branded paper bag containing travel size shaving foam and some cat food, delighted with his free stuff, out of my head. But these bags are more like lorry loads, so they get discreetly delivered the next day, not handed out at an afterparty.
The only problem is that clearly the gift-givers forgot about woke Hollywood's environmentally conscious discourse.
Twenty-four nominees in acting categories including the likes of Joaquin Phoenix, Leonardo DiCaprio and Renee Zellweger will receive opulent gifts worth over $5 million collectively, each including 24-carat-gold bath bombs, a custom stained-glass portrait (vanity knows no bounds), a certificate for a one of a kind cannabis-infused chocolate culinary experience worth $10,000, a 24-carat-gold vape pen, five-star breaks in Ibiza and Waikiki, and most bafflingly a 12-day trip for two on the world's first ultra-luxury expedition yacht, the Scenic Eclipse, valued at $78,190.
The diesel-powered yacht boasts eight restaurants, a spa sanctuary, helicopters, a submarine capable of depths of nearly 200 meters to allow for explorations far beyond any done on expedition ships to date, indoor and outdoor plunge pools, butler service and an almost 1:1 guest-to-staff ratio.

(yeah it's RT, but will you see stuff like this on cnn fake news?)
I’m not sure any cruise, right now, should be viewed as a ‘gift’.
I gotta say that Antarctic cruise sounds awesome.
You’re missing something.
They’re hoping - and, expecting - few, if any will take them up on it. I mean, if any of the stars take them up on it think of all the condemnation they would get from their fellow stars for their hypocrisy. Oh, right, that doesn’t apply to them.
They are getting LOTS of publicity without actually having to shell out much.
It just makes you wonder what Russia got in exchange for colluding with Trump. Crimea? No. Soetoro handed Putin that gift. Uranium reserves? No. Soetoro and Hitlery gave him that. Increased oil exports? No. Soetoro, again, helped Russia out by declaring drilling moratoriums and blocking the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline.
Dang it. I'm having trouble thinking of anything Russia gained by helping Trump get elected. It seems like he would've wanted Soetoro's friend, Hitlery, to have won.
I wonder if demonicRATS and The Fake News Media ever wonder the same thing?
Nahhhhh.
Meanwhile, I think there was an episode on the Sopranos that dealt with the gift bag crap regarding actors.
Lol yeah Chris stole Lauren Bacall’s bag
The Scenic Eclipse
The gift bags are not all they are made out to be.
If you get a “gift” bag expect to get a 1099 form at the end of the year.
You might be on to something there.
Do they all go off at the same time? Please?
[Russian accent] I Love Russia Times, comrade.
Its wrong but I do find myself thinking about “Titanic”
The nominees are in affect paid (bribed) to attend the awards ceremony. Over paid as “actors” to begin with and then bribed to stand before the cameras and make a speech.
Bttt!
I heard most dont accept them anymore since they are taxable. Yep the same liberals who claim they should be taxed more. Liars lie!!!
Yep. Christopher was in Hollywood, peddling his script for “Cleaver”. He was in talks with actor Ben Kingsley (playing himself). He got to tag along with Ben as Ben would pick and choose among all these expensive items given to him for free. Chris was stunned, watching these celebrities scooping up all these very, very expensive gift bags and items all for free. So later on, wearing a ski mask, he brutally mugs Lauren Bacall for her gift bag.
These exalted ones couldnt be any more hypocritical could they?
Lets wait and see (as they bury themselves in the dung they create).
The Scenic Eclipse looks like a a horizontal floating sky scraper to me.
