The Michigan diocese of the Episcopal Church is about to welcome its first female and first openly lesbian bishop this weekend.
The elevation of the Rev. Bonnie A. Perry to bishop in Michigan comes as some Christian denominations in the U.S. struggle with issues of same-sex marriages and gays or lesbians in church leadership roles.
Perry was elected last June at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Detroit and her ordination will be held Saturday in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn.
The Rt. Rev. Gene Robinson became the Episcopal Church’s first openly gay bishop in 2004. Episcopal conservatives opposed to the ordination of gay priests later formed the separate Anglican Church in North America in 2009.
In January, United Methodist Church leaders unveiled a plan to resolve its dispute over same-sex weddings and gay and lesbian clergy. Conservative churches opposed to the election of lesbian or gay bishops would form a new denomination. …

Her justification is “ Jesus said absolutely nothing about homosexuality”. What a religious leader. She can just ignore the numerous passages where homosexuality is condemned, and then declare that Jesus condones homosexuality because he never mentioned it.
I do feel sorry for people with homosexual leanings, but in the quaint old Catholic church this would be called your cross to bear in your life......something that you have to control.

agree. and same goes for the bruce jenner’s who think they were born the wrong gender or are tried of living the gender they were born.
plenty of mind games from the devil or our own self, where persons get to choose to cling to God’s word and resist temptation or fulfill the lust of thier own flesh/thought/desire.

Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the Head of His church. He is the Shepherd, His sheep know His name and they come to Him. The lesbian bishop is not one of the Lord’s ministers but rather a new pagan temple priest of powers and principalities whose work is to separate men from Jesus Christ.
Rather, whose work is to prepare them to jump into the lap of the anti-christ..signed sealed and delivered..
If you belong to a church because of its support of homosexual unions, pro choice, or other such anti Christian is beliefs,then eat drink and be merry. enjoy this short self serving life, because there is nothing joyful about what comes next.
