The Rolling Stones are revving up their lucrative rock ‘n’ roll machine once again: The iconic band has locked in a round of summer stadium shows.

The Stones unveiled the 2020 leg of their No Filter Tour, a 15-city run that will kick off May 8 in San Diego and traverse the continent before wrapping up July 9 in Atlanta.

Rolling Stones tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 14 (local time in each market). A presale for American Express card holders will run 10 a.m. Feb. 12 through 10 p.m. Feb. 13.

Six decades on, a Rolling Stones show remains one of the time-tested customs in rock. The band’s 17-show outing last summer grossed more than $178 million to top the year's North American box-office chart.

I'd like to see the Stones, but I'm really hoping to catch Rammstein.

I think you're underestimating the price, Mariner. I hope I'm wrong, though.

I'm going to pass. I'm sure the Stones will put on a good show, but it's likely to be very expensive in Dallas. The cocaine and boob job crowd will make that certain.

I love “Exile On Main Street” as much as anyone else who was a kid in the ‘70s, but watching the Stones live in the ‘90s was like watching your grandparents getting drunk and embarrassing themselves. In 2020...these guys are older than my mom and we moved her in with us because we don’t trust her to live by herself anymore.

LOL

Tampa, July 5th. That’ll be the show they die in. Heat mixed with Florida.

Saw them in Atlanta in 2006. Tickets for good seats, not front row, but near the stage with a very good view, were $375 each + junk fees, so basically $400 for a ticket. I got a pair of those for $389 total price, from a scalper off ebay 48 hours before the show. Wife and I were the only ones on one end of a row. Apparently some deal had fallen through and the scalper was dumping the tickets.

Great show by the way. Stones were real professionals and didn’t just go through the motions, they rocked out the whole show.

Odd....no LA NYC or Chicago shows as well as other large city venues. Going back many tours they used to prep and rehearse in the Toronto area and then do a surprise pop up show in a small club. To me the energy of a top band in a club setting beats a stadium one. Two greatest shows I ever attended were the Ramones in just such a venue.

Stadiums must have the most handicapped ramps.

I saw them once, severl years ago, when they did their “Bridges to Babylon” tour. It was in Albuquerque. You’re right, they put on a great show.

Bob Seger just finished up his last tour...83 concerts, one year long from November 2018 to November 2019.

We were lucky. We saw the Stones for the second time in June last year, and Kiss in September for the first time. Kiss was great, but the Stones really brought down the house! Trying to figure out which venue we would like to see them perform this time. They are my all time favorite well-known band, and they are thoroughly entertaining! I don’t care if they play all old songs, or mix it up with some new ones (if they had them). They are so good!

“I wonder how old their groupies are now?”

Older than Mick’s current girlfriend, no doubt.

They don’t act like they’re 25, they act like they’re 20! And I love it!! I hope I can be that active when I get to be their age(s).

I had a young man from England on my crew at a Summer retreat. This was 1994. He was from Liverpool and knew a lot about the British groups. He could not stand Jagger. I am not fond of the Rolling Stones tho they did have a few I liked.

Who’s your favorite rock and roll band that had their heyday in the 60’s - 70’s?

Noticed this too. Brilliant scheduling error. Outdoors in Tampa FL in July. The temperature may be somewhat tolerable if the typical thunderstorm blows through near showtime. Steamy.

“ There’s a reason for that...
Yeah..people can’t let go of their youth and pay a fortune to see old beat up geezers perform :)”
Pretty much so. And, the Boomers have the money.
