Having problems with FR running slow. Any one else?
Yes it is running slower than usual.
Probably from all the lying Dem attacks on our President including slime-ball Romney!
Yep. Started last night. Off and on periods ranging from sluggish to slower than the line at the DMV.
Great. Back to normal for me.
Thanks Jim
I’m getting FReep Rage...help!!
Not slow here in Eastern Mass. - Tom

have returned:
"Freerepublic.com is DOWN for everyone.
It is not just you. The server is not responding."

Plus you have lots of discussion of SOTU, Rush Limbaugh, then the KC Chiefs are having their parade and celebration, coronavirus people being shipped around the USA... Quite a few things are going on today.
Your reply is NOT helpful at all!
The whole environment we love here is wrapped up in the ability to quickly reply to each other on the trending news topics of the day.
To limit replies is to admit a degradation of the website.
If the owner says we need to do that, we all should belly up some cash to improve things—but that’s up to him—not you.
I’ve been donating monthly for two decades, how about you?
There are issues lately we all want to help fix in some way. I’m glad this thread was made so I could assure it wasn’t me and others are experiencing it.
It’s up & running like greased lightning now
I was thinking its all the increased traffic thanks to traitor Mitt
If a day like today can make the forum come to a crawl, this does not bode well for Election Day. We’ve had equally busy news days in the past several months that didn’t impact the forum like today (or yesterday afternoon/evening).
Not slow here at all. A regional issue?
Can you possibly be less rude?
Friend of Humblegunner?
Be thankful that FR doesn't slow-loading sponsor ads that slow down responses even more during normal times. Being free of ad content keeps things moving fast except during times when DOS spammers attack. Certainly hope the John can find a way to mitigate their impact.
Super slow here in Oregon!
Yes. VERY slow.
If increased traffic, which I want (means more folks FReeping and getting the word out) then I’d gladly pay for more infrastructure.
If that is the cause.
However, if it is ongoing cyber attacks then yup, I want the government to do something because I pay my taxes like a good boy and they’ve spent a $#!+ton of OUR money creating all those Cyber Crime Centers all over the government just for things like this.
So all those boys and girls working in those jobs getting big bucks to combat hackers from OUR money better get to work or we’ll lose faith in them...
I don’t even want to think about some deep state underling in the government not only doing nothing to help but actually leading the attack themselves.
That would be so Comey FBI, now wouldn’t it?
From the replies, it was not isolated to one part of the country.
And the hiccups are returning.....guess it’s just the way it is for now.
Slow here. Weatherford Tx.
Should maybe look into a Cloudinary.com proxy solution. They have built-in means to handle DDOS situations.
