I’d like to yank every one of those hand kerchiefs off and burn them up. If a person has to hide their face, they are doing something shameful and should be exposed.
I would tell them-do something honorable —no mask needed.
I need my fellow freepers tonight. I took a chance and met with a reporter for an on camera interview with AZ Channel 15 on Monday. It is regarding a local issue that is important to my community and my family. I wrote up my memo to me after the interviw, I mean it works for Valerie Jarrett right? I have posted this publicly and below. I would appreciate any night owls who support common sense land management and freepers to comment on this story when it runs tonight on their 10:00 PM broadcast. The horse whacktavists will be out in force. I am asking for prayers, I pray they don’t make me look like a redneck horse killer. Here is a synopsis of what I said when they interviewed me. I know you will have questions so I will post more links to info. Here is what I posted to our local community bulletin board.
I have debated whether to post this publicly or not. I finally decided I would go ahead and post it. At least our community will have a chance to know what I actually said in case the reporter misconstrues my words.
Yesterday I did an interview with Sonu Wasu a reporter with Channel 15. I took my original Wild Horse and Burro Document. #BugABooHeard. I only had about 30 minutes to prepare but I think I did OK. We’ll see.
I explained how the horses came here after the Rodeo Chediski fire took the fences out. I explained that my Mom and other local citizens saw the original horse herd but they disappeared of natural causes following several hard winters. She tried to get me to say who I think the killer of the horses is. I said I do NOT know who it is. I told her I know it isn’t the local ranchers, they have the most to lose. I told her I don’t know the exact location of the recent shooting but as far as I can tell it occurred on the LDS Church ranch and I know they wouldn’t kill horses. I gave examples of the character of our local ranchers. I explained that people and all the other animals in the forest are managed and that we just want to see them managed. I said we do not think killing them is right, it is against the law. I took my notebook with documentation of our history in ranching. I explained that we help each other in this community and we are tired of the unfounded accusations, fear mongering and negative attention the horse activists bring to our community.
She tried to get me to address the idea of “Who is the sociopath killer.” I told her at first I thought maybe it was local kids just being stupid. Then I told her that it is odd, the killings seem to happen when things quiet down around here.
I said some local people believe it is an activist. They are the ones who gain from it. They fund raise off of it and they gain more notoriety for their horses. I stressed we do not support killing horses or breaking the law. We support common sense management. I told her this is a great place to live and we hate seeing it misrepresented.
I also told her about Norman, our baby calf. I told her we are organizing a trash clean up and count the horses day in the forest. I think that’s about it, I wanted to summarize what we discussed while it was fresh in my mind. I hope she is fair. #BugABooHerd
