I keep thinking about the movie Outbreak when there is a meeting at the White House on whether or not to nuke the town considered ground zero, and they decide to do it. Watch out people of Wuhan.

Over 8,000 Americans have died of the ordinary winter flu and there's NO PANIC or concern about that flu. It's flu season - get a shot, right?
Yet the coronavirus has killed LESS than two hundred people worldwide and countries are closing their borders? We're flying Americans out of China AND we're quarantining them? And we're suppose to believe this is a normal flu?
You might be right Wizdum... it's worth considering based on the actions of world leaders... (but not on their cheap words)...

72 hours should be at least 168 hours, restarted any time one of them gets sick.

Yes, I think it was a lab modified Corona virus. It is said that it was merged with an unknown virus. Sounds suspect.

When all is said and done, it is apparent that the "rights" of those from infected areas to travel is more important than public safety.
Precedent was established back during the 1980s GRID epidemic when the "right" of those infected to engage in perverse sexual activity was deemed more important than public safety.
Never heard of GRID? It was actually a more accurate description that the term AIDS which replaced it.

What the biggest clue for me was how quiet the Chinese were when it first appeared, and then the abject panic about controlling spread.
Remember, China at first said 'no big deal', then more cases and deaths started to show up.
Here in the US, we have 5 cases we know about, incubation.....5 days. So we won't know spread or centers for another 5-10 days.

I am with you on the argument that this is not normal, but comparing this to the flu is not valid for a whole bunch of reasons. The flu is not as infectious or lethal and there is a chance to slow this thing down while the flu has a virtually unlimited reservoir of hosts.
But, yeah, some people know more than they’re telling the rest of us.

My folks use to have a place in Gunnison Colo small town in the mountains but on hwy 50 coast to coast road everyone used. During the flu epidemic 1918 they had a posse on each end of town that would not allow anyone to stop, they were escorted thru town, but needing food or gas was just too bad you were not stopping.
