They are Democrats. They do whatever they want.

Because they have no sense of propriety and Republicans have no spine.

Or maybe God is fighting President Trump's battles for him.

Easy. They have no honor, no commitment to the United States and no morality beyond self interest.

Good question.

They should excuse themselves, but they won’t.

They have criminal hearts.

Everybody who still supports the Democrats has a criminal heart.

They're "interfering in an election."

And "investigating a political opponent."

As far as I know Mitch never uttered a peep about it.

Essentially there isn’t a single, objective dem in the Senate. So if that’s the threshold they’d all have to recuse themselves.

Because this is a political activity not a judicial one despite the use of terms like indictment for impeachment and trial for a senate vote on whether to ratify the impeachment. It’s all political.

First, none of the Democrat Senators are running for President. They are running for the Democrat nomination to run for president. If we are lucking the Democrats will kick all four of those nitwits to the curb.

Second, the Constitution states that the Senate will conduct all impeachment trials. Each Senator, simply by being a Senator, gets to sit in judgment during an impeachment trial.

Do you object to the fact that no one of the Senators is as yet running against the President or do you object to Article I of the US Constitution?

I have another question.
How much has it cost for 100 Senators to sit in the Senate for this impeachment trial and how much more will it cost? And then add the cost for the Senators’ staff?
The House has been working on this impeachment for over 3 YEARS. There are over 400 Congressmen. How much have they cost us taxpayers?
How much did the Mueller investigation cost us taxpayers?
Are we looking at tens of millions, hundreds of millions, or have we entered into billions of taxpayers’ dollars?

WHAT A WASTE!

When are our Representatives going to do something for us taxpayers!

“Question: How can the people running for president against president Trump be voting in the hearing against President Trump?”

Easy, because it’s an OPEN SECRET that none of them will be the nominee, but rather Skunk Cabbage will be the one, after the DNC Convention deadlocks this summer.

It’s a good question and an open one that ought to be settled, despite the Article I argument elsewhere in this thread. If they are running the primary to be president, they are by definition running to be president and in conflict as passing a legal judgment on their opponent. As with all challenges to the Constitution, this one ought to go to court and settled by SCOTUS. Framers evidently did not anticipate this issue, but a conflict is a conflict and this one is Hugh and series. I would have thought it might at least be brought up in the question period of this Senate trial. Love to hear the House managers’ reply and the senators then faced with the very question posed by reporters.

If I am running for president and my opponents get to campaign unfettered while I rot in my chair in the Upper Chamber, someone should check my brain. Someone explain to me why 3 senators running for president are willing to sit through this trial when they know that the conclusion is a given? Why haven’t they given the Dems the finger and gone to Iowa? There must be an end game for them. Is the party trying to knock them out?
