WITNESSES OR NOT?

Posted on 01/29/2020 11:47:04 AM PST by Hostage

The preference for having witnesses or no witnesses at the Senate hoax trial is a difficult one for many to decide.

What is your preference and why are you making that preference?

Definitely witnesses. Let’s start with the whistleblower and see where that goes.

How is this a difficult decision? The senate’s function at this point is to determine if the house has proven the president can’t be trusted with the office and must be removed. If the house is allowed to call witnesses it should only be witnesses they have previously called to bolster their case. Now, I do believe Trump should be allowed to call witnesses because he was prevented in the house investigation. The house has been referring to the statements made by their witnesses, the defense hasn’t had that opportunity.

The house dwarves keep emphasizing this '17 witnesses'. Actually, there were eighteen. The eighteenth one which the house dwarves want to hide is the lynchpin through which the entire fraudulent 'whisleblower' is hanged.

Philbin has nailed why NO WITNESSES should be called now that the articles are in the Senate. The House clowns did not do a thorough job bringing articlezs of indictment but now they try to force the Senate to do clean-up and hold an indictment proceeding at the trial stage. That is bullshit only the demon rat minds can conceive. And Schumer wants it so the Senate is tied up well into the summer not affirming judges and not handling legislative responsibilities. The evil is thick with these dwarves. And they have their blackmailed chief sitting as judge so they will get whatever they demand if this is allowed to be pushed into calling witnesses who were ignored by the House clowns.

No witnesses. The Democrats have hijacked the Senate. No judges getting confirmed. Stalled Trump agenda.

End it.

No witnesses.

Here is the dilemma if they vote FOR hearing witnesses.

If Trump's team says these are not impeachable offenses, and yet the Republicans vote for witnesses, that is really a de facto rejection of the President's argument.

Why waste the Senate's time with witnesses when the charges aren't impeachable in the first place?

A vote for witnesses is a rejection of the Trump team's core argument. Why would Republicans want to do that?

A vote FOR witnesses will just give the Democrats the talking point that Republicans don't believe the argument that their own President's actions don't rise to the level of an impeachable offense.

I agree...no witnesses...we don't need the Demorats using this trial as a campaign for the next months upon months. Further you are right, they failed to call them when they were up to bat.

Just like they hollered Russia until they got Muller to Investigate.....now their buzz words are Bolton and Cover-up.

End It.....and investigate Biden and the others outside this Trial.... which the Dems are also trying to prevent as that would reveal their own corruption. Thus by keeping it under the roof of the trial the focus remains on Trump and not them until the election.

The treasonous ‘whistle blower’ will plead the fifth and the President’s side will get zero.

If there are witnesses called, the first 18 should be those from the House. They should be asked, “Were you on the call, or discuss this with the President?” (Except 18. There are a lot of questions for 18.)

If the Democrats need witnesses, then they can open an impeachment in the house and call them.

View this as precedent for the future. You let witnesses in, the Senate becomes defiled as a trial body.

Dragging this on actually HELPS Trump ... which is why I think the Democrats are just looking for a reason NOT to call witnesses.

This entire exercise is about discrediting or removing Trump AND taking control of the Senate. Whether there are witnesses or not, it will be front and center during the campaign.

If witnesses are called and Trump's ultimately acquitted, the Dem's will cry corruption and campaign for voting in a Senate majority. If they take the Senate and Trump is re-elected, he'll be removed from office in 3 months or faster.

If no witnesses are called, Trump is acquitted and re-elected...rinse and repeat the above strategy...

It's going to get ugly either way -

Fine. Plead the Fifth. If he or she doesn't speak, then he or she can't accuse President Trump of anything.

Just don't let him or her do what Lois Lerner did. Make an opening statement and THEN clam up. No, no, no. You make an opening statement, you give up your right to remain silent.

Besides, the "whistleblower" is Adam Schiff-faced.

Eggsackley! Cocaine Mitch has allowed Sxchumer to take over control of the Senate by default. And the Romney, Collins, Merkowski turds should be exposed as the stinky Schumer allies they are! Dead soul Schumer is pulling Romney’s strings and usurping the Majority’s power to get judges approved, etc. The evil schemes of dead soul Schumer are endless.

Stop the theatrics. The impeachment only stops the Senate’s other work because that’s the way the Senate wants it. There’s nothing that prevents the Senate from conducting its business every morning while the trial goes on.

Anyone who says “call the Whistleblower first” doesn’t have a clue about how these types of proceedings work.

How can the Senate call the whistleblower when THEY DON’T EVEN KNOW WHO IT IS?

I'm listening to the Senate hearing...is it just me or are the Dem's just kicking Trumps counsel's a$$? Trumps team is arguing precedent and process and I get it, but com'on...have some emotion and passion with your argument!!!

We're winning a few battles but losing the war big time IMHO - let me know if I'm offbase...

If you are so stupid that you haven’t already made a decision, then no amount of additional testimony will change your mind and you should be voted out of office!
