State department officials said on Monday in a statement that the flight to Ontario, California, is expected to leave Wuhan on Wednesday morning local time. Priority will be given to citizens who are most at risk of contracting the virus.
Alaska health officials say the flight is expected to make a refuelling stop in Anchorage and that about 240 Americans are expected to be aboard.
The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services says the passengers will be screened for coronavirus before they leave Wuhan by US and Chinese health officials and that anyone with symptoms will not be allowed to board the aircraft. The department in a statement says they would be screened again at Anchorage.

I almost died and posted about being deathly ill but it was removed.
Somebody is going to make a movie one day about that plane from Wuhan.
It will be a disaster flick.
They’ll have at least a dozen in serious condition and maybe even a death or two by the time they arrive, and the remainder will all get sick.
I believe all will be quarantined.

we may have a spike today and the next few days because perhaps there was a backlog of people needing testing but they didn’t have enough testing kits until now.....and when they get through that backlog the “new” cases will level off some??

This is kind of where we see how well developed and tested our plans are. For example, a 777 aircraft designed to hold 350 people can EASILY hold twice that many, if we’re serious about evacuating the people, rather than making sure we comply with every FAA regulation.
To get to that higher number, you simply prohibit checked bags, no galleys/meals (just water), limited fuel (stop in Alaska), and consider removing seats...people sit on the floor. Or, if you do keep the seats, people sit in the aisles and stand/sit in other areas. The odds of a needing a fast evacuation of a properly functioning aircraft are maybe 1 on 10000...so sometimes it pays to play the odds.
The TEST is whether people whose job it is really THINK about their options, or are they Biden Jr type patronage jobs, for which they are totally unqualified.
We shall see which.

We watched that this weekend. It seemed pretty realistic, not overblown zombie apocalypse but very very grim.
If true there’s no way this thing isn’t going to escape China and wreak havoc elsewhere.
At this point there’s nothing they can do but ride it out.
He has not been out front on this thing .
Why is air travel from China still going on ?
Beijing is closed down by land but you can fly here with no quarantine.
Trump better act real quick .

My lib friends are even demanding Chinese air travel to end .
