Well - if your opinion mattered to me I might care - so -OK
Yeah, I saw that but I was curious if the victim, John, had any relation to former baseball manager, Joe Altobelli

4:56 PM PT — The Mayor of Costa Mesa, Katrina Foley, just confirmed the identity of one of the other victims in the helicopter crash ... girls basketball coach Christina Mauser, who’s married to Tijuana Dogs singer Matt Mauser. Matt also confirmed the news himself.
On Facebook, he wrote ... “My kids and I are devastated. We lost our beautiful wife and mom today in a helicopter crash. Please respect our privacy. Thank you for all the well wishes they mean so much.”
well that’s TZ reporting this....but say that it’s so...I think it was obvious the pilot lost control of the helicopter at some point.
However if he was flying around in circles I would have thought the tower would have said to return and land...or even the passsengers.
I recall a time a family member was driving the Interstate in very thick fog....going far too fast. Visibility often was zero...why take the chance?

Proud of my wife! She and Kobe did a clinic for WNBA players up at the Mamba Academy! Big Time Baby!
I am not one of these people who thinks there is nothing admirable in athletic achievement, nor that it is impossible for someone to ask for forgiveness and deserve it, but if it were a just world all Mr. Bryants obituaries would begin Kobe Bryant, who admitted raping a woman in Colorado even as he in the end faced no consequences for it, died today in Los Angeles in a helicopter crash. That most of the commentary today (not per se on FR) has been about what a swell basketball player he was is a sign that morally we are not a serious people. Rape is a very serious crime, and that someone could get away with it because he was a great athlete in no way alters that.
Decent men know that no means no. By this criterion Kobe Bryant, who AFAIK never apologized in person to the woman in CO whose life he presumably destroyed and who might have raped other women, lived a disgraceful life because of the CO incident. If he were a decent man, after escaping legal consequences for raping that woman he would have apologized personally and then gone on to work to help men not rape women as he did. IOW, should have lived the life worthy of someone who got away with a disgraceful crime.
I don’t believe Kobe raped the woman in CO. I do believe he had consensual sex with her. I believe there is a pattern of behavior with powerful men where women have wanton sex with them. And powerful men “expect” it.
See post 439.
But even Bryant said it was rape, as long as no means no. Here is Bryants own apology for what happened:
First, I want to apologize directly to the young woman involved in this incident. I want to apologize to her for my behavior that night and for the consequences she has suffered in the past year. Although this year has been incredibly difficult for me personally, I can only imagine the pain she has had to endure. I also want to apologize to her parents and family members, and to my family and friends and supporters, and to the citizens of Eagle, Colorado. I also want to make it clear that I do not question the motives of this young woman. No money has been paid to this woman. She has agreed that this statement will not be used against me in the civil case. Although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, I recognize now that she did not and does not view this incident the same way I did. After months of reviewing discovery, listening to her attorney, and even her testimony in person, I now understand how she feels that she did not consent to this encounter. I issue this statement today fully aware that while one part of this case ends today, another remains. I understand that the civil case against me will go forward. That part of this case will be decided by and between the parties directly involved in the incident and will no longer be a financial or emotional drain on the citizens of the state of Colorado.
Why isnt your objection anything other than sluts lie?
Kobe Bryant here admitted he raped a woman. Bryant agreed eventually that she didnt want to do what he soon did to her. And no means no. Bryant couldnt forego five minutes of pleasure, even if it meant destroying a womans life. To hell with him,
Decent men have no idea what some of their male pals are doing. They find it hard to believe that it happens a lot.
Think of the number of men who abuse and kill their wives and girlfriends. Multiply that number.
RIP. I wonder if he is related to Joe Altobelli who was manager of the Giants and Orioles?
But, he never said she said no to the sex, he never said he raped her. He said:
how she feels that she did not consent to this encounter
I think she went up there and thought the sex would be romantic and "special" and instead she was used like a hooker in an alley. After that subhuman treatment, she then cried rape.
This is the cultural rot and crime in this whole situation. Not that Kobe "raped" her, because I don't think he did. The rot and crime is that men are led to believe that women are to be sexually exploited and women allow themselves to be sexually exploited.
What. evidence would you require to acknowledge that at some point she said No, please stop!, and that Bryant did it anyway?
Everything you write can and has been said about Trump.
There is no accusation that Bryant was a serial rapist. He died on his way to coach his daughter’s team.
There is one he said/she said incident from near 20 years ago. He was never convicted of any crime and paid off the accuser. If you want to castrate a man for that so be it. I choose to judge Bryant by body of his work and not that one incident.
Kobe Bryant was not castrated while he lived. He raped a woman, and continued to be adored.
I agree you dismiss the incident as nothing more thanhe said/she said, but if she was telling the truth what body of work would atone for raping a woman? If he raped her, why does his body of work, whatever it was, even matter?
If you think no rape happened, just say so and we can move one. If it did happen, as I think it probably did, to hell with him.
Women lie about rape all of the time (this was a 30 second google search, do I need to continue?):

Man, that's brilliant.
I could just as well argue, Ofher men rape, therefore Bryant did.
Come on, you can do better than that.
Do women lie about rape, yes. Did this woman lie about being raped. I believe she did. I think she had regret about the encounter, but that does not constitute rape.
The fact that you believe her wholesale is more concerning. We are Americans with a unique concept: innocent until proven guilty. No proven guilty in this case.
