You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.
Solution to our last puzzle:
THE SINGLE RAINDROP NEVER FEELS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FLOOD. ---DOUGLAS ADAMS

A few leisurely minutes. Trial and error until it popped out.
Fourth word did it for me. I do think I am seeing letter patterns more easily now.
Yes, I got the fourth word right off. Once I guessed the first letter of the first word, the third word came to me, and I was on the glide slope after that. I guess that was the “epiphany”, the first word, for me.
Took longer than it should have but the second word gives it away. I kept going off on a tangent.
4th word is the key here...i think.
Between 2 and 3 minutes. Getting the most common letter right leads to the author’s first name, and it’s all Robert Frost on steroids after that.
2 minutes again! Lucky guess on WTWA started me off.
The hardest part was getting the name of the obscure author
I had to figure which way to go. After that, it took about two minutes to solve.
That assumes you have ever heard of the author. Not well read enough, I suppose.
He's on the Oprah book of the month club and the Good Morning, Karen America type shows. One hears of the name by osmosis. (That is, I don't consider him a "real" author...)
“He’s on the Oprah book of the month club and the Good Morning”
That would explain it. Dunno my trash pickup guy’s name either.
