On this date in 1996, Billy Bailey was hanged for murdering an elderly couple in Delaware.
Bailey was condemned in 1980, which was before Texas debuted the lethal injection trend that would sweep the nation; therefore, he was sentenced to hang. When Delaware switched to injection in 1986, Bailey had the choice between his original hempen-necktie sentence or the newfangled gurney.

Fascinating, in a very weird way. I suppose hanging is a very effective way to kill people since so many amateurs do themselves in that way. That always amazes me, I could never figure it out! Me & Jeffrey Epstein, we’d never do that.

Yeah. I also once heard some doctor proposed executing people with heroin. It is definitely lethal at the right (over)dose. And, you know, it’s not bad while it’s happening.

I recall seeing old film of German soldiers executed during the Battle Of The Bulge. They were infiltrators wearing American uniforms.
I was surprised how quickly they were turned into rag dolls. Appeared to die instantly.
Seen the same, amazing how fast it took the starch out of them.

Untold multiple millions of people have had injections "administered by people off the street" (often themselves), including for diabetics, vaccination of allergy sufferers, life threatening allergic reaction injections, and various other drug users across the nation.

I was merely proposing a possible reason as to why the guy I was responding to had such an easy time going out.
My only opinion on the form of death penalty is that if it were I’d prefer firing squad.
Put 'em under, remove any parts usable for transplant, drain all blood for transfusions, and dispose of the remainder however you wish.
Every holding cell should be equipped with a rope and a step stool. Imagine the savings!
