Steve Lookner about to go live for updates
There are currently 1,764 confirmed cases worldwide, including 54 fatalities.
“I havent seen you communicating the urgency of planning at a national/global level, for the possibility that this cannot be contained”
I’ve seen her say it will not be contained and the disease will run it’s course, whatever it may be.
Of course, by now, we all should know that.
Terrifying. Here's a chart estimating and comparing daily *reported cases of SARS, Ebola, and #coronavirus...

“Having the plan and expecting everyone to have read it, and the ability to execute are different things.”
When there’s 1,500 sick people in the parking lot of every hospital and 200 in the lobby, nobody will even think of “the plan”.
Many will not go to work.
Wow. I’ve been following him but missed the Spanish flu Ro. I am surprised.
OK. I have seen graphs which show a 99% decrease in human contact will only slow the spread of the disease by (I think) 1/3.
So, yeah, I guess...
(shakes head, starts mumbling distractedly to self.)
Kobe is wall-to-wall on FOX. Only the crawler underneath tells the tale.
He’s my favorite. I love him.
Bravo. I love you. Remember this? - experts built the Titanic and amateurs built the Ark.
Lot of China travel to the areas, but only seen one suspected case, in Russia.
Most curious aspect of the outbreak IMHO.
No. Measles is much higher. About 14 per the epis.
Suspected carriers in New York, Chicago, Virginia, St. Paul, Arizona, Orange County.
(Hint: health officials are attempting contract tracing. When was the last time you heard of *that*?)
“Many will not go to work.”
That is for ALL types of workers. Fearful of going into work (the police station, fire department, electrical company) where they might get it from their co-worker.
Or staying home to care for someone sick in their family. Etc.
There is only so long a community can continue if nobody shows up for work.
The videos of the deserted streets in China are really spooky. 8 lanes of road - 2 cars. “Boy - they must really have to be driving. Huge fines, and possibly lose their license if they are caught driving. Oh - they are turning into the hospital.”
Thank you.
UPDATE: Results negative for Texas A&M student tested for coronavirus:

No doubt. The EMT paramedics who transported the Canada case did not know hed tested positive for the virus until they heard it on the news! Health departments must do right by these front line workers.
The reports coming out of Wuhan say that all of the gas stations have been shut down. Also there have been many road closures.
That may be why you are seeing no cars on the road.
I’ve been curious about cross reacrtivity...

Also read that a group experienced in mRna vaccines is working with NIH on one for Wuhan. Which part of the virus do you think they will target, and is it possible to make a polyclonal/polyvalent vaccine?
Found one report from Russia, as I said.
The significance is that the cases should be found there, and aren't. Likely leading to a secondary pool for the virus. Yeah, governments could be hiding cases- up to a point.
