RECUSAL OF THREE DEMOCRAT SENATORS
1/23/20 | Plain and Simple

Posted on 01/23/2020 9:52:26 AM PST by Plain and Simple

Why have Senators Klobuchar, Sanders and Warren not recused themselves from participating since one of them might be a direct beneficiary of the result of this hearing?

My guess is their polling probably shows the unhinged portion of the democrat party (>80%) won’t vote for anyone who doesn’t go on record with a vote for removal of the Orange Man.

They certainly cannot be impartial jurors.

Because it’s no problem at all for Democrats to use the power of government to attack their political opponents.

It’s only a problem if they accuse someone else’s of doing this to them, regardless of whether it was even done at all.

Remember when Kagan recused herself from the Obamacare case before SCOTUS because she had been involved with legally counseling Obama on Obamacare before joining the SCOTUS? Me neither.

Booker and Harris as well

Anyone who tried to run for president should recuse themselves from this trial

You forgot Bennet.

Also, Leahy, Menendez and Durbin should recuse as well as they engaged in exactly the sort of thing they accuse the President of doing - trying to get Ukraine to dig up dirt on
Trump.

Because all presidential impeachments are political spectacles not judicial trials. You are not supposed to be unbiased. If you are, you have no business in the senate. The votes were baked in the cake before the entire impeachment spectacle began. That’s why it is much easier to determine the outcome impeachments that have no regard for facts than unbiased fact based jury trials

Chief Justice Roberts is the first one who should recuse. He’s neck deep in this entire effort to bring down the President.
FISA courts are under his supervision.

Never happen. Would move the required vote to pass motions from 51 to 49. The three “moderates” would be useless to the dims at that point

Since House D’rats have made impeachment whatever they want, Senate R’s can Aldo the exact same.

New Senate rule: Any Senator in a campaign against a President that is being impeached shall not vote in that impeachment trial.
