Actor John Cusack introducing Bernie Sanders in Exeter, N.H. this afternoon:
CUSACK: "The billionaires are getting nervous and all the corporate media is they hate us, they dont hate us, they're confused. And it seems like every conceivable power structure on earth is trying to kill or derail our movement, but were still here.
We know this form of capitalism takes and takes; it takes whatever, whenever, however it wants. Itll take our lives, itll take our labor, our spirit, our air and water, even our earth.
And Bernie respects us enough to tell the truth, the hard truth: We have a ten to twelve year window to radically transform our energy systems, or climate change, predatory capitalism, and endless war economies will rob us of the right to any future at all.
And as we can see literally every day, the house is on fire. But as Bernie tells us, this is no time for despair, it's no time for anything but action. Because if we stand together, with him, the future is still indeed unwritten. And theres nothing more powerful than a movement whose time has come. We have never had a movement candidate this close to power with a revolutionary movement hes led and built, ready-to-go, all the way to change the country and help heal the world.
With people of every race, creed, gender, everybody stands together in solidarity with all of us whose labor powers this economy, stop the profiteering and tell the billionaires and the corporate tyrannies that it's time to start treating all human beings with respect and dignity."
If he’s so rich, why ain’t he smart?
Wouldnt a vaporization chamber put carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
Danny Elfman wrote a song about guys like this:
Capitalism - Oingo Boingo
There’s nothing wrong with Capitalism
There’s nothing wrong with free enterprise
Don’t try to make me feel guilty
I’m so tired of hearing you cry
There’s nothing wrong with making some profit
If you ask me I’ll say it’s just fine
There’s nothing wrong with wanting to live nice
I’m so tired of hearing you whine
About the revolution
Bringin’ down the rich
When was the last time you dug a ditch, baby!
If it ain’t one thing
Then it’s the other
Any cause that crosses your path
Your heart bleeds for anyone’s brother
I’ve got to tell you you’re a pain in the ass
You criticize with plenty of vigor
You rationalize everything that you do
With catchy phrases and heavy quotations
And everybody is crazy but you
You’re just a middle class, socialist brat
From a suburban family and you never really had to work
And you tell me that we’ve got to get back
To the struggling masses (whoever they are)
You talk, talk, talk about suffering and pain
Your mouth is bigger than your entire brain
What the hell do you know about suffering and pain . . .
There’s nothing wrong with Capitalism
There’s nothing wrong with Capitalism
There’s nothing wrong with Capitalism
There’s nothing wrong with Capitalism
Like Sean Penn as Spicoli in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, maybe that was his best and most true to himself role.
Out of work actors resort to virtue signalling online in order to get back into the minds of producers and other Hollywood leftists with money. If you see a celebrity spewing leftist talking points, they are just looking for work.
Poor John. We only care what your sister Joan thinks.
Glad to hear your point of view John. All enemies of liberty, freedom and capitalism are my enemies!
My calculation is 10.7178082 years from October 8, 2018 when the UNs Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change issued the Special Report on the impacts of global warming of 1.5 deg. C above pre-industrial levels and related global greenhouse gas emission pathways.
....”If you see a celebrity spewing leftist talking points, they are just looking for work”....
Oh isn’t that the truth!
I just pulled my estimate out of my Obamahole.
I did say “good movies” in quotes...and by good i mean monetarily successful..not great..formula movies of the 80’s and 90’s aimed at teens and 20 something.
The planet is faltering in face of relentless corporate plunder And, sadly, violence, and fascism and poverty is spreading around the globe"..."They fear us ... because were going to take on their greed and their corruption and were going to win.
Hypocrisy at it's best!
“you could have substituted pretty much any actor for him.”
THis is true but in the spirit of capitalism..his movies did make money.
sort of like pop music is mostly lame but some of it is listenable if you are in the right mood.
BTW if he evaporated tomorrow i wouldn’t care.
Dilbert they don't want to ban oil to reduce CO2. Every major energy and major oil company (including Exxon) is in favor of the scam.
They don't even call themselves oil companies anymore. They're energy companies. Money and power is their goal.
The Clintons call it "the third way" which is a unification of corporations and government.
They're selling it as Eduard Bernstein version of Democratic socialism. Which in reality is the very earliest version of National socialism (Independent Social Democratic Party of Germany.)
Thanks John !!
Where’s Ricky Gervais when you need him?
We have to save the planet from the likes of aholes such as John Cusack.
He had a starring role in a movie about the end of the world so he must know what he’s talking about, right?
It’s called the UN world migration initiative...they admit that climate change isn’t about climate at all but about bringing 3rd world people to industrialized west in order to destroy capitalism, hence everyone is equally miserable {equality}
