Florida man strikes again.
The former mayor of Milton, Fla., was sentenced last week to 51 months in prison and ordered to pay back $650,000 he stole from the United Way.
Guy Thompson, who served as Miltons mayor from 1994 to 2014, stole the funds while he was the executive director of the United Way in Santa Rosa County, according to the Pensacola News Journal. Thompson devised a complex scheme where he kept a portion of money intended for use to pay United Ways regular bills and expenses by replacing it with other donation checks no one at United Way knew about, the paper reported.
Prosecutors found Thompson started stealing the money while serving as mayor in 2011 and he continued the illicit plan for seven years until 2018, when he was terminated by the United Way.
He used the funds to purchase, among other things, a BMW and a beachfront condo.

Im sorry but we are going to have to start hanging thieves.
There are too many of them and they arent afraid of having to go to jail.
AND THE LOWLIFE MOTHERFORKERS EVEN STEAL FROM CHARITIES!
We have to start somewhere.
Theres a lot of hangings needed.
at least he stole from bigger thieves ...
When my wife was in management at Montgomery Wards in the late 70s early 80s, she was TOLD the store had to have 100% participation in donating to the UW. You had to agree to have it deducted from your pay automatically....or else. Typical UW strong arming.
She said fine, and authorized 10 cents a week. And they did indeed deduct 10 cents a week from then on until she left the company.
There you go. This stuff is predictable as the sun rising now.
Has a class action law suit ever been filed against the United Way for the strong arm tactics used against employees in order to force donations?
Why he is just a piker compared to UW governing body.
The stealing was under the 700 dollar mark its ok
Of course they did......but they found out "he really didnt mean to do it."
