You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.

2019 Cryptogram Solvers Hall of Fame

Over the next few days I will list the names of Today’s CG puzzle solvers admitted to THE HALL OF FAME

The selection is based on the consistency of effort, fun, creative, sometimes goofy and lively commentary, and their general enthusiasm, in the past year.

In addition their choice reflects their skill and temerity of purpose in the solving of these daily CGs and their support for this posting.

A_perfect_lady has been a CG solver almost from Day 1. She was a slow starter at first, and as I recall was pretty frustrated in the beginning. Now, she’s among those who solve the CG every day.

I love the Hal’s Helper! I used to use paper and pen and I got the quotes so scribbled on that I couldn’t read them long before I finished solving them!
