The FBI says the pair drove onto the base anyway and were apprehended by authorities about 30 minutes laterWhy did it take 30 minutes to wake the MP's?

The arrests follow two similar cases involving Chinese nationals taking photos at the Key West base. On Dec. 26, Lyuyou Liao was charged with illegally taking pictures at another annex of the Naval Air Station. Liao, 27, is being held without bail. His lawyer argued at a recent hearing that Liao was on vacation taking pictures and that evidence of any crime is thin.
A fourth Chinese man, Zhao Qianli, pleaded guilty last year to illegally taking photographs at the same Florida Keys installation. Qianli, 20, was sentenced to a year in federal prison.
What is going on at NAS Key West that has the Chinese so interested?

Security at this base needs a severe upgrade.
It’s hard to believe the Invaders refused to show ID, then barged in and were free to roam for 30 minutes.

The missis and I were just there last weekend. The annexes appear to be housing and support facilities. And everything is pretty laid back, as you would expect in the Conch Republic.
But No way these dummies, or anyone else, got onto the actual NAS proper where the flight lines are. Not so chill there.

“were told by a security officer they could not enter the property without military identification.
The FBI says the pair drove onto the base anyway and were apprehended by authorities about 30 minutes later after taking photos of structures on the base.”
Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot. - How the hell did the “security officer” let them on base, and why did it take half a flippin’ hour to apprehend them?!
