I put instant coffee in a microwave oven, and almost went back in time.

What do we want?
Time travel!
When do we want it?
Doesn't matter!

Good, can he go back to the 1950s and make people take Sen. Joe McCarthy more seriously?

Time is the measurement of motion. Space is a way of saying “there is nothing here.” It’s possible to travel in space. Travelling in time is meaningless, given the above definition (See Aristotle and Thomas Aquinas).
There is no way to warp either one. Keep trying, professor.

We all “time travel”.
We can only go forwards, and only at the speed of time.

I am reading your post in the future from when you wrote it in the past. Your theory is correct.

Gotta be careful with that kind of stuff.

Unless we treat time travel seriously, the whole universe will make about as much sense as the Terminator franchise.

Keep at least one extra time stabilizer around.

Could be. The irony is that if you go the speed of light, you don’t have to go anywhere because everything is right here.

The faster you travel the more time slows and space shrinks. So theoretically at the speed of light the universe shrinks to a point and you’re everywhere instantaneously and time stands still. Sounds like you blow up. OK, that's it. No more jogging for me.
Just to be safe,

But if you dont work on it, how could you come back to tell yourself that it works? ;-) Just use the time in between the time when old me shows up and tells me it works, and when I am old and using the time machine, to build it. There's got to be several years there. And the older I get before the older me shows up, the more I would appreciate if I show up with some schematics or something, because I think I am already kind of cutting it close.

Back in time must also go back in spatial location else you just end up in empty space along the spiraling twist the Earth has followed over time.
