The outlook of the 2020 NFL draft and the future of Tua Tagovailoa will hinge on the Alabama quarterbacks pending decision. Tagovailoa tweeted Wednesday night that he will announce his huge decision stay in school or declare for the draft on Monday.
We havent had a looming draft decision quite like this in recent memory. There have been injured players who have had tough calls on staying or going, but not with a quarterback as highly regarded as Tagovailoa.
Entering the season, the common narrative was that the Miami Dolphins were Tanking for Tua. How wrong that proved to be, given that Tagovailoa suffered a season-ending, and potentially career-altering, hip dislocation in the Nov. 16 victory over Mississippi State. Call it a coincidence, but the Dolphins went from 2-7 at the time to finishing 5-11 and picking fifth in the draft.

Funny thing is, Miami still could use one of its three first-rounders on Tagovailoa. That is, if he thinks coming out is whats best. We simply dont know which way the wind is blowing on this one. There are cases to be made for both sides of his looming decision.
Here are the pros and cons of what Tagovailoa must weigh:
The reasons for coming back to Alabama
If Tagovailoa returns to Alabama, it could mean that theres enough concern or not enough time to quell the concern over his hip injury. Despite all the positive forecasts from the Alabama...

My advise as an Alabama fan is to return as starting QB to Alabama, win the Heisman and the National Championship (again) before going professional.
I worry that Tua is injury prone and will be injured again in college and never make it to the pros.
Who can forget this.
Take the money.
I asked a co-worker who had played five years in pro football. He suffers. I asked him: "Was it worth it?"
He answered: "Some days it was; some days it wasn't."
I have read that others are comparing Tua’s injury to recent injuries of other players.
I harken back to Bo Jackson. He still limps to this day.
I agree that Tua is injury-prone and should take the big bucks now because his playing days may be short and sweet if at all. He may never recover from this hip dislocation and break.
Don’t take this wrong, but in the grand scheme of things, why is this this even important to anyone?
I do completely understand. Your or my existence means very little to anything either. But, somehow we manage to make lives for ourselves and have fun with football games and such. So....
I agree with you that this isn't important to me.
However, I also have faith in the Capitalist system where the market sets prices based on supply and demand.
And for the Pro Football market, somebody with Tua's talent is worth tens of millions of dollars, so that must be something to consider when weighing the importance.
‘but in the grand scheme of things, why is this this even important to anyone?’
I agree; how dare anyone post something that doesn’t interest you...
I would be if I were him.
take the money....
advice from the bleacher seats
Reminds me of the military. Except theres no big $$$$$$.
If I am an NFL team, I would have to be pretty desperate to invest in this kid with no post-injury snaps or workouts. With that said, I hope he does do well if and when he plays at the next level. Seems like a good kid.
Military = duty, honor and country.
As a side note, what Alabama booster paid for his parents to move to Alabama and provide the dad with employment.............Inquiring minds want to know...LOL!
“Dont take this wrong, but in the grand scheme of things, why is this this even important to anyone?”
Starting to agree more with this way of thinking, especially regarding the NFL. It is a hard habit to break though. I have family at Alabama so I do have an interest. Would like to see Tua come back for one more season.
He'll have to get around this 5 star challenger.
"A five star recruit, he originally committed to the University of Southern California (USC) to play college football but later decommited to go to the University of Alabama"
The ravens had a tight end who dislocated his hip, rehabbed and came back. It came out on a non-contact play a year later and he was done for good. For certain, Tua should take the money now, especially with a strike pending in the NFL after next season.
Collective Bargaining issue?
This guy wont see a footbal til at least Aptil, his injury history includes alot more than this hip deal. The hip hit wasnt that violent. Few, if any teams will put up cap money on yhis fragile jaw guy.
