Can’t imagine Jones was waiting for Cowboy fan reaction that it was time to let Garrett go. If he had, this would have been done in prior seasons.

Cowboys Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones have moved slowly and with abundance of care and respect for Jason Garrett. Yeah Right

Two things ...
1) Simply letting JGs contract run out does not preclude hiring a replacement in the meantime.
2) What ‘credible candidates’? I can’t think of one who IMHO would want to work for JJ.

Same here.
They could have just given him a box to gather his things and escorted him out of the building.
Sheesh.

I cannot picture them moving forward with this until they know that there is some other coach that will allow Jones to call all the shots.

Pretty amazing that someone has chosen to stay with Jerry Jones for this long. Garrett seems like a good guy and I bet we will see him again as a head coach in the NFL.

1) Simply letting JGs contract run out does not preclude hiring a replacement in the meantime.I suppose. I'm not seeing an abundance of care and respect - or any other point - there. And the period of overlap would be a little weird ...
2) What credible candidates? I cant think of one who IMHO would want to work for JJ.
LOL! Yes, if "candidate" includes that condition, there may not be many.

Quite a few credible candidates will have signed elsewhere by then ... I'm sure Jones is already in talks with them too.

Yeah my take too, JG seems like a nice guy but that doesnt fit with Cowboy management....you either win or hit the road....bottom line and the way it has to be everywhere except in us government circles...
