Believe it or not, FIVE Trump paraphernalia stores recently opened here in Massachusetts.
I went to visit one three days ago, and purchased a magnetic $5.00 Trump 2020 bumper sticker to put on my car. I knew that eventually some lefty might remove it.
However, I didn't really think that in less than 24 hours someone would steal it from my OWN apartment parking lot!
Anyway, I want to buy a (cheap) video camera that I can put up in my car so that I can catch the bastard when again put up my spare Trump sticker.
The thing is, the camera must have a battery because the car is not running when it is parked over nite.
Any advice?
Try a game camera.
They are battery powered and be mounted away from your vehicle to see who or what triggered it. The videos/pictures at night can be very clear and show clearly, who or what triggered the camera.
Then, you can play the video/pic back on your smart phone, tablet or lap top.
you’re lucky they didn’t give your car a scratch as well.
I’m going to look for that old video of a guy who alternately put Obama, and then Sarah Palin, stickers on his car, in different parts of town, to see if/how his car was damaged. The results were utterly predictable.
Did you check with the apartment manager about any security cameras in that area?
Double-sided tape and itching powder might be fun but also dangerous should the person get in a car and have a reaction while driving.
Maybe keep the next bumper sticker inside the car window when you’re not driving.
Careful. You don’t want to go to jail over a bumper sticker. Will the local coos even care?
This is not going to be a helpful reply. Being that you are in MA, I could see you being charged with a crime of “unauthorized recording”. That’s what happened in CA when they videoed Planned Parenthood discussing sale of baby parts. As others have pointed out, the cops will do nothing with any evidence you bring them over the theft of a $5 bumper sticker.
I understand the desire to “show the flag” but unless your car is a beater, leftist idiots will feel justified in keying, hammering, etc. your car.

The cops won’t care. The perp doesn’t care.
No one will care.
And if you post it online, the perp will become a hero in MA.
I am assuming you live in an apartment building. There is no way to see the car from the house? If you put the camera in the car...you will invite real thieves to break your car window and steal your camera.
I would never suggest that you are “asking for it” in MA. and I would never suggest that you are throwing away money with a camera scheme.

Best advice, by far. The nice thing here is that the MAGNETIC approach worked like it is supposed to. The cheap bumper sticker is gone and the car is unscathed. Maceman seems to be missing this important point.

Being of Irish descent, me father and me grandfather were enforcers of the law and it was explained at an early age I wasn't to use the word 'cop' when referring to an officer of the law. No reason was given just don't use the word.
It was years later I learned of the connection between 'cop' and coprophilous. Evidently schools produced a better product in the early 20th century, the vocabulary's were of a higher level and insults approached the level of art.
I learned from British tele that COP comes from “Constable on patrol.” They were also called coppers.

I have a handicapped hanger for my rear view mirror which bugs the hell out of my wife when she drives, so she puts it in the console and I return it when I drive.
I found a full sheet of Benadryl inside the space behind the gas cap door on my car a few years ago. After asking around, I found out this is sometimes used to make meth. Yeah, cops was my first thought, lol. Dirty cops trying to set me up.
I was gonna say, a 12 gauge, lawn chair and a ghillie suit. Spend a night or 2 posing as a hydrangea and nail the bastard.
