I think everyone is being shortsighted in thinking thag firing Garrett is the answer, and that he's the problem. The players on this team aren't a cohesive unit, Dak is overpaid, Zeke is a holdout....again, Jason is a good man and he deserves more time, a LOT more time for this vision to take hold.
Cowboy fans should eschew their short-term "I want it NOW" attitude and adopt a more prudent, measured, and frankly adult attitude. Garrett has the support of the owner, and the owner clearly know what's best.
I'm also an Eagles fan.
Perhaps the smart move is for Jerry to finally allow Garrett to choose his assistants and have more say over player personnel moves.
Garrett actually is in a good negotiating position to demand those things, because he actually will get another coaching gig if the Cowboys fire him.
Dak made $2M and Elliott signed a 6 year deal last year.
Jerry wanted Sean Payton, but he re-upped with the Saints.
My theory is that right then Jerry wanted to re-up with Garrett, but Garrett was the one who told him to wait until the end of the season.
Exactly. For example, Obama's economic plan took a full 9 years to finally kick in in 2017 and Trump unfairly got all the credit. Garrett is sure to get over the hump if he gets another decade.
I'm also an Eagles fan.
For a minute there I thought you were a Lions fan.

The rumor around DFW is that Jones may have money problems.
He deserves the right to hire his assistant coaches too, but that will never happen ... so they will stay mediocre at best.
How is Dak overpaid? He’s on his rookie contract making less than $1 million a year.
