Can somebody explain how you win in NFL OT because of a coin toss and a TD? Dang man, college OT makes a heck of lot more sense than this. Almost like the NFL rule makers are on drugs or something.

And the Saints lose on another uncalled pass interference...
To: Jim W N
I really hate the sissyfication of sports. Wah wah wah. Coin toss establishes who is on offense and who is on defense. If the Saints didn’t want to lose all they needed to do was stop the Vikings from scoring a TD. They didn’t.

It’s better than before when a field goal could win it on the first possession.
I’d do a full 5th quarter and then dueling 2-point conversion attempts if it’s still tied.

Saints shouldn’t have missed the FG before halftime, then there would not have been OT. =/

I've never liked offensive pass interference. 😑

I dont know how much of the game is psychological, but Mike Zimmer made note of the fact before play began that nobody, not even Twin Cities media, gave the Vikings any kind of a chance.

Fully expecting to go 0-4 after Boston Scott rips Seattle a new one. 🙈

I liked the pass rules prior to 1978...

The farther away from the NHL BS that the losing team gets a point with an OT loss the better. I say 10 min OTs until one team wins. But, in this case, if you can’t stop the other team from scoring a TD...boo hoo you lose.

It’s actually a slight advantage to the team that doesn’t start with the ball.
If they get a three-and-out, they’ll get the ball in decent field position, and all they’ll need is a FG to win.

I hate that as well. IIRC the ‘10 Hawks were the 2 seed despite having more wins than San Jose because “points”.

I’d go with:
- Each team gets a chance with the ball once.
- After both teams have had the ball once, the team ahead wins.
- After both teams have had the ball once, if the score is tied, then sudden death.
Simple and easy, and fair.
Who’s the druggie that invented this demented OT scheme?

Why do I think Seattle’s going to win making my record a sweep, 0-4?

Saints only had 8 turnovers all season, a record! 2 in this game.
